After being away from the mother land for some 13+ years I am coming back home.

Coming from a non-medical state (OH) I'm really looking forward to this.

Gonna have to cut down my current grow and start fresh, but whatever. Can't wait to see them purple mountains again.

What'st he run down on Arizona MMJ laws? Who do I need to go see? lol.

You might be ok in Tucson.. The dispensaries are coming real soon and the rule here in AZ is if you live within 25 miles of a dispensary your growing privileges are revoked! gone, out the window.

Yep they are starting to fight over locations for shops. Its going to throw alot of people off. Aside from that plants are doing great for the weather right now, its going to be a good christmas!!!! Welcome back to T town.

It's not too late for that, but, fuck, I don't wanna get that far away from the city. We'll see what happens when it happens. I don't mind keeping it illegal, it would've been cool, though. Pipe dreams....

no u need a ten foot wall and its too hot in the summer even nurseries close down their greenhouses in the summer but winter is pretty much perfect.
honestly if i were moving id put up with the commute find a large lot somewhere and setup a greenhouse but thatd be up by flagstaff

A real greenhouse with poly or glass would be way too hot in the summer. i live in the valley and built my "greenhouse" with breathable shade cloth from Home Depot. temps are 10 degrees hotter here than Tucson, and my plants have been outside since mid-June doing very well, no fans or misters. here's what i do:
1. don't use pots outside, any plant with roots in the ground will handle temps much better.
2. the deeper the hole, the more insulation from heat.
3. dilute your nutes to 50%. respiration rates are much higher outside than in, the plants use water faster than food and you can cause a buildup
4. neem that shit and keep an eye out for bugs. I had no problems this summer, but i always get white-flies and mites outside in the winter when the weather cools
I am no expert by any means, this is just whats been working for me.

You only need a 10 ft wall if you grow out in the open/uncovered, and the wall needs a lockable 1" metal gate. In your average backyard, a 10' wall would probably give you about 5 hours of direct sunlight, imo.

Smart grower.. Digging a hole versus a pot here in the desert will keep root zone temps a lot cooler.

Its def. Possible to grow year round but like what was said above it has to be in the ground. The root zone will boil in a bucket out here. Also you strain has to be able to handle it too, I had some of my uncles ICE plants started indoors and they were dead in 12Auroa hours after bringing them out. On the the other hand I have a cut of DJ shorts F13 that absolutely loves the AZ sun and weather. She is a monster and has always done well. Peace.

2legit i didnt think anyone even tried outdoor growing here but hell if they like it I might have to throw a few in my yard

You can grow 100% pure sativas out here no problem. The Land race sativas seem to do well out here. I know a gardener that had success with Mexican sativas

nice ill keep that in mind do u think ak-47s would do good thats the only sativa i plan on running anytime soon?

I dont know dude. If I grow outside it's gonna be a land race sativa like Panama Red, Acupulco Gold , or even Kali Mist.. Now you are making me want to grow Kali Mist !!

I've heard of a few desert growers getting good results with afghanis and pakis... I have heard other growers recommend trying to grow a moroccan here

AK47 is a mix of 3 landraces and isn't as hard sativa as you could go.

I think our dry weather is important to take into account. Using a silica product or a well established soil with available silicates would be important for a plant to tolerate heat stress and a dry environment

Many sativas actually are used to growing in tropical climates which have higher humidity. Which might make the paki / afghani idea better.

I know I didn't give you anything exact to go by, but hopefully something there will help you .
