Moving to northern cali!

Hey all...i'm moving to northern california in about 8 months. I was thinking about moving somewhere in Sonoma county, because of the plant limits and guidelines. Also I was thinking about maybe Humboldt but from what i here everybody that moves out to Cali for the Ganja Industry go's to Humboldt. Anyway i was hoping SOMEBODY on here lives around that area and maybe has some advice on some specific towns...I was thinking maybe Sabastopol.

I am going and visiting in October and taking the Basic Seminar at Oaksterdam. I will be there for a week and the seminar is a weekend seminar, so i'll have a couple days to drive out to Sonoma and/or Humboldt. I was hoping to be able to sell to the dispensaries for a while when i get out there. I really want to get a job at a dispensary and i think that the best way to do it would be by taking ALL the courses at Oaksterdam. I know That the courses are kinda expensive but i figure that if i take All of them that the oaksterdam staff will remember my name and face and i hope to get accepted for an internship. Once you complete an internship at the college, they actively work to find you a job. Also i feel that the more time that i spend at the college, the more knowledge i will be graced with, and the more contacts i will meet in the industry. I am definately willing to put in as much time and energy as it takes to break into the industry because growing Ganja is the first thing that i truly enjoy doing. I also use Mary Jane to combat my severe anxiety and stomach pains(its amazing how many things one plant can do!). Anyway...please let me know if you live in the area and/or have worked at a dispensary, sold to the dispensaries, etc...Thanks in advance

Also if you have taken courses at oaksterdam

dont know much about college but have spent some time in santa rosa & really liked it large enough to have recources & close to coast, russian river & north-cal. i live in stockton area once i moved to a remote area simular to humbolt-trinity area given 1/2 a chance the locals will run you around the block bottom line cover your ass &expect help from no-one but anyhow thats been my experience i'm a north,cen-cal native & wish you luck on your endeavor

Thanks for the advice and the quick reply...I kinda figured that the locals didn't take to kind to outsiders trying to break into the industry and thats why i wanted to go overboard with the college and take ALL the classes so that i will really get to know the people there and by the end of all the classes they wont feel like i'm a stranger anymore...hopefully lol And i kinda think that the teachers and what not at the college would be good contacts to get to know as well as possible. I'm gonna just try my hardest to stand out from the group the whole time

Sebastopol is really cool. it's like a little hippy town. i lived there years ago. i'm a few miles away now. if you come here, you will love it. :)

i took all the Oaksterdam classes. i'm sure it may help find work but it won't guarantee anything. there is a lot of compition. a part time job and an extra bedroom(wink) can get you by rather well, though.

we are friendly to outsiders here. :)

under an hour drive. just far enough away to keep it away. :eyesmoke:

pretty much anywhere in sonoma county is cool. lots of remote type areas. small neighborhoods. million dollar homes on the hills. you can live in a tent by the river for damn near free, as well. :joint::joint:

I live somewhere not too far away from what you're talking about, but I won't say exactly where. Let me also add, that in Oakland and SF, there are no limits on plant restrictions. :)

Yeah, theres just so much hate, racism, and judgemental people on the east coast. I'm hopin Cali is a different attitude. I wanna go to NO CAL rather than SO CAL because i dont like it to be 90 fuckin degreez all year long...i like seasons, lol

I lived in SoCal for the last 35 years before recently moving. It's NOT hot all year long, usually the weather is really, really nice. Summers are obviously going to be a LITTLE warmer, but this summer up here so far we've hit 101 4 different days. And btw, people are just as judgemental here as anywhere else. Probably even more so actually. Optimisim is nice, but don't kid yourself. :peace:
