Multi-strain, Northern NV grow

Im running my max, 12 plants. 11 outside (5 are baby seedlings running in coco and perlite) and the others popped in mid to late April, running in soil and perlite.

I started the main 7 in my garage just as the temperature dropped back to super damn cold and needless to say, that cold lead to nutrient lockout as well as a host of other issues (I'm now a learned man).

They went extremely dormant on me but had no way of warming them up under the cfl so I ended up putting em under the 400 watt MH for the time being.

After that I transplanted into 2.5 gal pots and all was well until another cold spell in mid May. Again, they threw off some troublesome looks but came back around.

3rd times the charm they say and when I potted up to 8 gals of soil in 10 gal pots we got another damn cold spell! That was last week and since, they've definitely came back around and now the roots are coming out the bottom of the grow bags.

A few have shown they are females (blind date, Frozen Mystery), a few are starting to get offset nodes (full moon, triple white, both ID) while I have one awesome male keeper (wanted a male and got the one we desire, I AM a breeder afterall). He's short and squat with purplish sacs with hair starting to come thru the sacs' ends. .. what else can I ask for in a male?

I'm running my own strains and 2 outsider strains which are:

Frozen Mystery (mine)
Blind Date (mine)
ID (mine)
Triple white (mine, a triploid pheno of white widow I back crossed and reversed)
White widow (not mine, forget the breeder comp)
Full Moon (nirvana)

My male is a blind date which we crossed using a Cinderella 99 and a special secret male. The male was a frosty AF, compact and HAIRY man. He was so good we cloned him like crazy!

My female blind date showed sex a few days back and today she's gettin ready to explode with growth. Some have been topped, this BD in particular was not.

20160621_101115.jpg Female Blind Date
20160621_113350.jpg Male Blind Date
20160621_101120.jpg Female Frozen Mystery (topped early in veg). She actually was worse for wear, thankfully she came back around...

20160621_113741.jpg Nice over view shot I took moments ago after trellising and LST/supercrop

Also, I have an OG Cheese indoor under a 400 watt HPS. She showed sex about 4 days ago and is getting stinky. I'll put some shots up tonight of her. She's in a 10 gallon tote with 6 gals of water...

Here's a couple shots of an outdoor Frozen Mystery we ran up in Humboldt last year on the farm...

20151025_110106-1.jpg this was our testing grounds for her. We got em started outside 3 weeks later than the others and this one hit 7.5 ft tall.

20151025_110639.jpg we left her up until the first week of November where she endured about 1 week of snow WHILE ADDING WEIGHT. As a control, we left 3 other plants, each a different strain, and each died off/wilted big time after day 1 of snow.

20151025_110651.jpg As you can see, the cold is setting in. These pictures were taken October 29th...

My og cheese. Topped her when she was about 4 inches tall and now I'd assume she'd be about 12 inches otherwise. . Nodes are tight.

Had some issues in the cold even with the rez being wrapped/insulated. But handled it well.

Now shes starting to throw hairs all over :hump:

20160621_190108-1.jpg believe it or not, she was defoliated not even a week ago.
20160621_190059-1.jpg
20160621_190312.jpg she's gettin trikey goodness :weed:

20160624_091947.jpg Took this picture earlier this morning just after I started tying/LST/Supercrop. The ID (middle left) was tied and such in this shot.

*today's round of LST/Supercrop that is*

Something attacked one of my Salvias. They got hit with neem at the same time but are gettin eaten. No clue as to what is doing it.

Triple white is still having issues so her replacement is getting ready for the spot.

20160624_093140.jpg

20160624_091954.jpg www replacement is the medium sized seedling. The smallest is ID. Her seed hull was stuck and I was away, peeled it off and she was yellow so I didn't think she'd come around... the biggest is Tall Blind Date.

20160624_091947.jpg FM seedling. All seedlings are in coco/perlite and are getting 1/4 T per G of both A & B (ran out of containers, don't laugh)

They're making noticeable gains daily.
Just putting up a couple shots for now, cameras about dead.

*The GH was 73 degrees upon opening*

20160625_084012-1.jpg Blind Date- You can see here that her issues are a thing of the past. All in all, total length is about 19 inches.

20160625_084137-1.jpg Blind Date- side boob shot.

20160625_084024-1.jpg Frozen Mystery- topped. They've used up all the nutes in the soil so night before last I started giving them nute mixed water. 1/4 dosage per gal.

20160625_084029-1.jpg Frozen Mystery- Side boob shot. Damn tease...

20160625_083908-1.jpg Full Moon still hasn't shown. Roughly 22 inches or so in total height/main stem length.

20160625_083900-1.jpg Full moon- my dog or cat gnawed on her leaves early on. Cat loves watching 'em from outside the GH (and he sits on a chair in front of my indoor tent) and I always catch my dog inside the GH but never goes near the indoor tent... I still suspect the dog lol.

Here's the male. He was my favorite out there. I did WANT a male but I wanted the Full moon to be it; I'll take a female though.
20160625_083942.jpg Blind Date male.

20160625_084132.jpg Total height is about 14 inches- a compact male is one part of the equation of what I like for crossing.

20160625_094225.jpg

20160625_094214-1.jpg Me thinks he'll be taken out of the GH tonight.

20160625_094208-1.jpg the sacs' tips are turning color and swelling nice. One good way to predetermine a female flowers' girth is by using a male with swollen-FAT sacs, among other ways/things to look for.

What up, where in Nevada are you, Reno area ? Here's to a good 12 plant grow. I didn't put mine outside until the 26 of May and it was a good thing too, frosted kind of hard the weekend before. Silly high desert...

Hey NorCal, thanks for stopping by...

I'm over near Virginia City so basically the same area. You're in Reno? If so, glad to have another in our area following along!

The frost was killer and had some close calls but the earlier frost in april/early-mid may just about killed em off but if 40 degrees for 2 weeks won't kill 'em and 102 in the greenhouse makes 'em thrive, here's to a great harvest lol...

They've had their unfair share of abuses, that's for sure...

Ahhhh! Little bastard cutter bugs (I'm assuming since I've never caught a bug on the plants except crazy 8 legged spiders) or something tore into my WW baby!

VZM.IMG_20160627_074316.jpg hopefully she pulls thru. They're all (the babies) getting up potted today and me thinks I'll keep her inside... any clue what's doing this? They were in humidity domes and she was with 2 others in the same dome and she's the only one that got munched...

20160627_080714.jpg well some good news comes with the overview shot. The triple white widow is sitting in the back left. She was my ugliest- birds attacked her. Bugs loved her. She wanted less nutes than the others and freaked out. The list goes on. Anyway, she looks like she's coming around now! Stems going from red to green (not losing the red but not adding any new red and just growing normal green stems) and she's starting to get her normal smell back. Maybe she's a keeper? Idk, I hate parting...

Ripped the male out. Some of the sacs looked like they were going to burst at any moment.

Most of the lower sacs were HUGE, I'd say about half a pea in diameter if not slightly more. Those sacs will be the ones used for at least one branch on my indoor OG cheese.

i'm a PU mmj grower in carson city. I grow under fluorescent lights indoors for personal use. nice to know that their are others in the area. the weather and low humidity up here is a bit of a challenge but your grow looks great

I understand. the people support MMJ but LE and the government can be a real PITA. they gained a lot of power from the drug war and they don't want to give that up. it took us 15 years to get our first dispensary.it's 35 miles from me so I have the right to grow my own but I keep my activities very discreet.as a breeder it has to be a lot harder for you

It was a PITA just getting legal let alone learn the environment but I think I've got it down now. Haha

On a side note I just upped the seedling to about 2 gallons of coco & perlite.

Just successfully did a first pass pollination on the og cheese with the male blind date.

The sacs exploded all over the shot glasses and so it was time. Did 2 lower branches I saved for this purpose. :peace:

20160629_104349.jpg Just took a look at the gh. Looming good. FM (mid left) is starting to shoot hairs all over.

Babies are doing great. The temp is 98 inside the gh and the soil is still cool...

20160630_071330.jpg this mornings' group photo. GH temp was 72 degrees at 7 am.

Today was the first day that I opened the greenhouse and could see a huge difference from the night before.

As soon as it was opened the smell was intoxicating! Only the FM and BD have shown sex with a possible female with the ww (back left) and the full moon (back right). The ID looks as if it wants to show soon.

Last night I watered with stronger strength nutes and the way I've been watering they seem to love: I first give half their required watering with just plain water then the other half nutrient mix after about 10 minutes and they've been loving it! (For example, if you water with 1 gallon normally take half and water then take a half of nute mix, simple)

20160630_071915.jpg FM- little more than 2 feet wide.
20160630_071834.jpg FM- I had to show a shot of her because she is starting to go and she's a pretty lady.

20160630_071812.jpg the babies are doing their thing in mostly coco with perlite. FM pot is FM. Full Moon pot is FM and BD is actually TBD (tall blind date)...

Just wanted to show my og cheese. She's on day 12 of flower

20160630_182804.jpg lookin pretty... tents been hitting 98 but the rez is sittin chilly thanks to reflectix :bigjoint: and yes, I have a big fan blowing her britches and my exhaust fan at the top, still won't hit below 93 but as you can see she's doing good...

(several tops aren't shown in this pic, tomorrow's defoliation day)

20160630_182743.jpg mmm mmm mmm, gonna be delicious AF...

20160630_182739.jpg Really good trike production, glad I crossed her...

Just a quick one today. Opened the GH and they're all starting to pray for their sun god.

20160707_074802.jpg

Love the Full Moon (back right), looks like a palm tree the way I've trimmed her/it (only one not to show yet).

Watered heavy last night and they're waking up for the day. GH was 68 degrees upon opening.

I'll be honest, never had any plants over 2 feet and not show. Ha. Also, never had anything larger than 18 inches when they showed sex and all are over 2 feet when they showed. Really curious here...
