Mushroom drying tek on weed

To dry fresh mushrooms after you harvest them you use anhydrous calcium chloride (sold as Damp-rid or Damp be gone). First you put a screen in the bottom of a tupperware container, leaving room on the bottom for water to collect, then put the calcium chloride on that screen. Next you put another screen above the first one and put the mushrooms on that one, then seal the container.
Would this technique work for drying marijuana? It's essentially the same idea, taking all the moisture out of the thing being dryed so I would think that it would. Has anyone ever tryed this? Would it mess with the flavor or potency or anything of the bud?

thanks for any feedback

Anything that "speeds up" the process is probably a bad idea! The only good reason to dry "faster" is to avoid "mildew like conditions". Other than that, the longer you take to dry and cure the better!

Fast drying can lock in that "alphalpha" smell and shortcuts in curing can produce "harsh" flavors and hinder complete potency developement.
