I wouldn't really call Meshuggah death metal. They usually aren't billed with death metal bands. And they don't use blastbeats, or straight 16th note double bass that often. They don't really growl at all either. It's just fucked up technical metal... with 8 string guitars and sick drumming. Probably one of the few metal bands who are pretty much entirely is based around drums/rhythm instead of guitars.
