If i was going to walk into the forest or any adventure for that, (i know it would depend on location)
but if i was to only be ably to pack a back pack and walkinto the woods alone with no previous knowledge what would be the items all the way down to the back pack that i would need for survival.

All help is greatly appreciated also any books boyscout or anything thank you

I'm BIG on survival camping. Sadly, I'm sleep deprived and beyond stoned at the momment. LOL. I'll try to come back when i have something worth saying.

One thing i always take with me is some form of food. Take your pick, MRE (Military meals), protein/meal replacement bars, or my personal favorite TWINKIES! Ok, i like Twinkies when I'm completely lost in the woods, high as a kite and hungry. Just don't leave the wrappers in the woods please. I've seen way too much trash in places that rarely get any kind of foot traffic lately and it saddens me to see it happen. Not like it's a hard thing to clean up either.

Besides, I've used a paper wrapper to help start a fire before that i happened to have in my pack. It was either that or my rolling papers. I've got my priorites set! LOL

Survival camping isn't for everyone. I've had 2 friends go with me before and they bailed the first night....hell, it was barely dark and those sissys broke out the cell phones calling home! WTF?? Oh well, it was raining and about 40 degrees outside. Not to mention, no rain gear, wet clothes, no fire going at that point and the only shelter was a tree. Yeah, that was a LONG night in the woods.

If you don't have a compass you can tell direction with a wrist watch, as long as the time is accurate. Holding the watch with the hour hand pointed at the sun, halfway between the hour hand and the 12, that is South.

wouldnt that depend on the time of day and suns location though? ive always looked for moss, or checked the shadows depending on time of day

well i would include a few things. i would want 2 lighters two rolls of toilet paper in plastic bag. i would want a swiss army knife. first aid kit. a big bag of the finest herb. a carton of cigs. depending on location i would consider getting potable aqua (cleans water to drink). i would want a rifle with ammo and a poncho. i think i could get away with that but obviously anyone would want to bring more than that. and at least a couple of bar soaps. toothbrush and toothpaste and hygene stuff. if you can still carry stuff grab a sleeping bag

this is what i have when i go huntin or out campin at the camp out in the glades, and as for north south shit , honesly direction comes to you the more expirienced you are in the woods based on wind, the way shit grow, clouds, moss, and area, along with the sun. it is natural to me :fire:

I'd take:

-A german trench shovel. http://www.surplusandadventure.com/images/product/main/0250.jpg
-A flintsteel http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/316680/9217261/0/1243866570/1_2_x6_Firesteel_Army_model_Fire_Steels-Firesteels_Flintsteel_firestrikers.jpg
-A swiss army knife is a must. It must be as sharp as possible. Carry sharpening stones if possible.
-Ration packs.
-Trangia stove with a few bottles of meths.
-Tinder to strike the flintsteel on.
-A larger knife, eg bush knife or parang.
-A rifle with ammo.
-Water purification tablets or a straw http://www.survival-school.org/Portals/10/Filter Straw shopsmall.jpg
-Twine or other cordage.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think about at the minute.
