My 1st grow(with pics)...advice needed please

Hi all, I decided it was time to grow my own. I converted a wardrobe, bought a 250 hps,extractor, a fan & got a couple of clones from a friend (1 cheese & 1 armageddon). They have vegged now for 3 weeks on 18/6, problem is I now only have about 3ft between the top of the largest plant (14 inch) & the bulb. Should i put them to 12/12 now or top them n leave them another 2 weeks before i start to flower? Any advice will be greatly recieved.

Hi GrowSpecialist, thanxs for taking the time to reply, surely it will stress the plants by topping them so would it be wise to send it straight into flower?

If you top them give them a week to recover and allow the new top shoots to begin growing properly before you switch. The plants don't look that tall atm so you should be fine with 3 ft head room. After topping they shouldnt go anymore than twice the height once put into flowering as the growth is split between the two main stems. Definetly allow them a little time to recover after topping.

Take clones if you are going to top.. otherwise you could simply tie your plants down and flower now to avoid any stunted growth...

Thanxs for the advice guys , much appreciated. Iv topped them tonight, I felt like i was torturing my poor babies, think theres gonna be a few tears when the time comes to cut them down (its a woman thing!)but gonna leave them till the weekend before i put them into flower, got a busy few days & not going to be home much to keep an eye on them.

Hi there, no i didnt clone the tops as i dont have anywhere to put them at the moment, Im new to all this and not really greenfingered at all.To be honest im surprised iv even got this far. Im reading loads on here & learning all the time. Im looking into doing a closet for vegging so iv got plants to go straight into flower once iv cropped.

good idea , i even have a "friend" who has a small grow going if you search for my thread you can check out the pics , GL w your grow :peace:
