So I'm on my first grow the previous owners of my house have done a half hearted job in putting a wall in place for the loft to be split from my neighbours (terraced house) one side is perfect other side has a lot of gaps in the brick work(in the cement not actually in the bricks) it is made from breeze blocks but I have no idea how to fill them in any help much appreciated

Depending on the size holes i would keep it simple ie less mess, what about no nails it comes in its own applicator lol or fire caulk or even crazy foam .
When you build your setup you want it sealed and it function as negative pressure in your space so as to draw air to your attic . i have been a carpenter all my life ,there is no such thing as a sealed attic .this is why chimneys are lined or plastered ,to stop any fumes . i would do the obious holes and just concertrate on the dynamics of the smell , scrubbers and where the used air is ultimately going .
this is of course IMO lol
good luck
