My Buds are TOO DRY-what to do??

Hey, i harvested some nice Barny's farm LSD and for some reason
i let them dry for two weeks in a 40% humidity.
so now they are in glass jar but i think they are too
dry for curing-is there anything i can do?
and if not-will the curing process will not increase
the potency (maybe even decrease??) because of the
buds dry conditions??
thanks for your help...

You dried it for 2 weeks before curing?
If you're planning on drying it that long you should have an extensive program, that involves specific humidities and circulation.
Good luck.

This does work. If you don't want that citrus on the bud though (personal preference) then use a damp paper towel. Good luck!
so if i will do that i can fell sure about that my curing
is actually doing something (like increasing potency or
making the smoke smother)??

remember the dryer your buds are, the more potent also. usually more harsh though too.

if you were to take everything in a wet nug and make a pie chart out of it listing the % of every chemical, moisture would make up a pretty significant %. let that nug dry and your moisture % is much lower. however, all your other chemicals including THC will have higher % to make up for the moisture. the more moisture you take out, the higher % of other chemicals including THC. as long as nothing else was lost or damaged in the process, the dryer the weed is, the more potent.

Dude,now im confused. :-/
my buds are very dry-and i understand that part of the idea
of curing is to let them dry slow (witch i DIDN'T do) so FOR NOW
in MY CASE - should i put something to increase the humidity
or not??
thanks...

If its too dry then put in some orange peel keep checking it till its the desired moisture, then continue the curing process. Thats what i would do.

if your buds are too dry then no matter what you do you wont be able to cure them. you can add orange peel or wet paper to make the buds wet again but it wont restart the curing process. curing is about the starch converting into sugar as it slowly dries bringing out flavor and extra taste , once you over dry you cannot restart the starch conversion process even if you rehydrate the bud ...

If Ur buds are to dry put them in a jar and leave them almost everytime the is enough moister in the stem to make your buds perfect leave it closed a week I bet u wi be surprised. I went to jail once with buds drying and they were so dry when I touched them the very outer pieces almost just turned to dust when I touched them it was so brittle. Put them n a jar week later they were perfect spongy buds. GL happy growing

i agree with robbie, i think you've missed that particular boat. so at this point too dry/wet is a preference thing. i personally don't like my nugs *bone*-dry.

a piece of white bread is a good odorless rehydrator. not the whole slice, we usually use about 1/2 slice per 1/2 lb when necessary.

@skiweeds:

mathematically, you're correct.
when you apply the theory, though:
say you have a 5g wet nug with 500mgs of thc/cbd/cbn/terps/etc. and it dries into a 2.5g nug. (just pulling numbers out of my head to illustrate an example btw)

you would have:
5g nug = 2g plant matter; 2.5g moisture and 0.5g thc/etc.

which makes, percentage-wise:
plant matter = 40%
moisture = 50%
thc etc = 10%
which adds up to 100%

whereas if you take the moisture out:
2.5g nug = 2g plant matter; 0.5g thc etc

which gives:
plant matter = 80%
thc etc. = 20%

the only thing that goes up is the percentage, not the amount of anything.
