my cabinet, almost finished!

well i was going through what my company was throwing away and found this cabinet. just an old metal office storage cabinet. nobody claimed it, so its mine now.
also went to good ol lowes found some odds and ends and came up with that wicked looking fixture!
only thing is not all the bulbs are 6500k for my vegg stage. there are 2 6500k's and 4 1750k's (soft white). should i go ahead and get all 6500k's? are the 1750's worth a shit?
i used a wally world emergency blanket to line it. figured out that light leaked through the gaps on the door so i bought another blanket, figured out the size, super glued some magnet strip on the top. so when i open the doors there is actually another lining hanging from top to bottom.
i also have a wally world one speed fan (be getting another today for exhaust). for the intake though, does it need to pull air in from outside the cabinet?
im using the zen style pencil cup filter for the filter.... let me know what you guys think so far.
my plants are not in it yet, as im still doing a lil work to it....

I personally went with all 6500k and then changed to 2700k for flower. You will want to get you a fan to provide fake wind and keep the air moving. Get a temp gauge in there when you have your lights all hooked up and see what the temps become after a few hours.

Temps will usually climb in a cabinet without fresh air so you will need a intake and exhaust fan. Make sure the exhaust fan is the largest most powerful fan in your box. do you have the means to cut the cabinet?

yep, i planned on mounting an exhaust fan on the inside, right side of the cabinet then cutting a whole to size of the fan then hanging my "zen style" pencil cup filter on the outside opening....
think itll work?

I almost built the zen cup filter but couldnt find the pencil cups at my local wally world. You will need an intake passive or powered as well as an exhaust fan. Intake low, exhaust high. Make the fan pull air through the filter then out of the box.

I would say cut the hole for the exhaust up high on the side of the cabinet, then across on the other wall and down, i would cut an intake nice and low. You may or may not need a fan in the intake.

Mount the filter on the fan, intake side. the side that sucks the air in, Have that side sticking into your box, and the exhaust pointing out. this is so the fan pulls air from the box, through the carbon then expels the clean air.

so i dont need the filter on the exhaust side? or do i need to make another filter for both intake and exhaust?
i just thought you needed the filter on the exhaust side mainly to keep the sweet skunk smell from exiting your box...

Well there are more than one way to vent a cabinet, mine is just how i would do it. Either you push the dirty air through a filter, or you suck dirty air through a filter and blow it out the other side. Mine was just one way to make this happen.
If you set it up correctly, all incoming air to the fan would first have to pass through carbon, removing the smell. so no filter is needed on the outside, ruining the stealth look of your cabinet.

ONA gel is magic, invest in it. I keep a jar in my grow cabinet. No smells at all!

with the gel, is a filter needed? also my hippie mom said to throw in a couple dryer sheets. would that help at all? my box is inda basement where all my snakes and tegu's are so it does have a smell to it down there anyway. what about just throwing a air purifier near the exhaust side of my cabinet?

The gel works for small grows, but i would still go with a carbon filter if you can
