my fans keep dying!

I've had two oscilating fans and both have burnt out! or something, its really annoying. Anyone got any ideas why this might happen, could it be to do with the timer?

Are the fans on the same circuit as the lights? Perhaps a good fan purchased that wasn't too cheap?
