My first 600w tent grow, cooling advice, filter installation, tent temps?

Been growing in that tent for almost 1 week now, and from the looks of the the plant likes it and so do I.

I have a carbon filter ready to install but I am waiting for the plant to grow a little before installing the filter. The filter itself is really heavy maybe even more heavier then the reflector, so I am not really sure were to install the filter, I am thinking setting it on a box next to the table.

For min maxing the tent temp sake, should the light socket be on the intake side or to the ducting side?

Tent temps can reach, 85F, but thats with the ballast at 75% (450w).
I can't seem to run the ballast at 100% without having tent temps out of control.

I am trying to think of a way to cool of the tent better so I can run the ballast at 100% (600w) power.

Something else that is annoying me about the tent is the noise it makes from the 1 fan. I have a 6'' muffler (http://www.ebay.com/itm/140927942108?var=440108060046&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649) it help with the sound but only seems to be doing it outside the tent and effecting only the exhaust noise.

Will adding the ducting and connect the carbon filter to it reduce the noise?

I am learning as I go with this, any advice is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The lights run 18/6 right now, so around 2am the lights turn off and I then unplug fan and open the tent so I can sleep without noise, I want to set this up so I don't need to do that anymore.

To keep temps down make sure the intake flap is open down below on your tent and that you have a fresh air intake from outside if possible. You can also vent the warm exhaust directly out of your room to keep things even cooler. Regarding your fan noise...you have options such as boxing and insulating the fan, hanging fan using bungee cords, and building/buying mufflers on exhaust as viable noise suppression options. Noise suppression is multifaceted.

Get a duct fan for your exhaust to push that hot air out and an inline fan + charcoal filter for your intake fan.

Frist thing is first

your light turn it to 100% power ................those % dail ballast are bad for your bulbs .........the light they make is not correct and the lower power does damage to the bulbs lowering it total life time

cooling the tent is simple ............u just increase the air flow per min ............a 4x4x6 tent is 96 cubic feet..............if u order yourself a 6 inch inline fan that is 400cfms with it running on full power u are exchanging the air in that tent 4 times a min

i am running 2 600w in that same size tent ................my intake is at 68 my exhust point is running 82/85 and that is with a slipt exhust (2 tents running on one fan with a y junction /dampner)
