My first grow log please comment and help a bro out

Ok well ive done alot of reading and thought i would give this a try. I started out by going to lowes and buying a cabinet 48x22x72. I then bought a panasonic whisper 400cfm fan and a 400w hps ballast and hood. Unfortinatly i bought a sunsystem2 with the ballast inside, but i removed the ballast due to heat issuses. I made a carbon filter outta high end black window screening mesh and activated carbon. The filter works great and i have the stuff to make a good 10 more filters. Odor control is a must as 2 days ago some teens got busted with 1 plant due to the smell Ok so i built the cabinet, installed lighting and blower and a speed control to adjust the fan speed at night. I planted 7 seeds and all 7 popped. I vegged them for 3 weeks and flowered them a week ago. Outta the 7 plpants 3 males 4 fems. But i gave my smallest fem to my friend as 3 in 5 gallon bucketts is enuff for my first grow. here is a pic of the babies at 10days old and the second pic is them at 2 weeks.

Looks like all your reading is paying off. Good job so far, nice looking plants.
Kudos too on the diy stuff. That's something i suck at so i end up having to buy everything.
Any idea what strain(s) you're growing?

Ya bro sorry i forgot to mention the strain I have a buddy that grows lavender and romulan and he gave me some seeds of the cross of the 2. So hopefully they turn out aswell as his do I got all 3 of my girls transplanted into 5 gallon containers and ready for them to blossom. I use premium potting soil that my local nursery makes and ALWAYS water my plants with PH adjusted to 6.7. i have also started to lst them, wish i would of started that sooner but all is good! Here is a few pics of my cabinet and girls...And i know not to use the foil, but i cant get mylar until this friday So let the good times roll and please keep up the comments and maybe we can make it to harvest

Oh BTW do you count the start of flowering from they day you switch to 12/12 or from the day she shows her pistils?

I would have vegged them longer, they may take awhile to bud now bro.

Well i went and checked on the ladies and pistils are everywhere!! Pics will be up shortly

yeah once you knock them to 12/12 then day 1 of flowering is activated.

I keep track of both the first day of 12/12 and the first day pistils show.
It's up for debate which is "correct" in terms of guidelines
in the end, the plants tell you when they're done.
I can always give either date if there's ever any question.
Usually if i'm posting on the age of a plant, i just say this plant is xx days female

Force flowering early can affect bud growth fact.

Yes bro you are 100% correct about force flowering, but the guy i got the seeds from has grown this strain for years. He told me for my space not to let them get past 12inches b4 flowering or i would have a monster. He vegs them 3 to 4 weeks from seed then flowers them. He seems to pull around 2.5 zips a plant doing it like this. He told me the ones he lets veg for a long time just turn out to be monsters and dont really produce much more with more vegging. He told me when he vegs for 2 months the yield only increases 1/2 to a full zip. So i was just triing to see how they would do flowering at 12 inches. I will definately veg them longer next time bro!! Good looking out! I try to stay away from my friend now as i dont want to bother him with my learning curve and also triing to stay low key. I was afraid to even post here but needed guidance from somewhere. Thanks for the help and comments, its nice to have some pros to help you out in a bind

3 is enough for me too ! but i let mine veg for at least 2 months then flower. im useing 400watt MH.. ten for flowering im useing a high output HPS 55,000 lumes !

Well today is day 5 of flowering and the pistils are popping up on all my nodes. They are stretching quite abit, but i have been triing to keep them tied down without alot of stress. Next time i will definately veg longer and train them in vegging. They are well over 2 feet tall now but i tie them down a little everyday. The side branching is starting to catch the tops now, so i am triing to get as even a canopy as possible. Here are some pics from today..Sorry for the quality as my camera is realy a video recorder that takes crappy pics. I will soon be buying a better 1.

I plan on flushing my girls this week to prevent any salt build up. I havent flushed the yet at all so its about time. Once i flush with PH adjusted water, Then i will start there feeding schedule again there watering after that.

Dam how long does indica dominants stretch for?? They are growing almost 2 inches a day. I really wish i would have lst from the begining.

It's not uncommon for some strains to grow 3-4 times their size in the first
3 to 4 weeks of 12/12.

One more question, does anyone know if the drops for fish tanks to remove chlorine are safe to use on our plants?

I use tap water that sits out for at least 48hrs.
That's been working fine for me. I just keep 5-10
gallons stocked.
No idea if drops work, not something i'd even think to buy.

The new chlorine (chloramine) doesn't evaporate at all. And it's not really new, it will change into a different chlorine form if you change the temperature, at least if it doesn't have a stabilizing agent as part of its molecular structure. You can actually do a search on google and see that chloramine does not evaporate. And i called my local municapality and they confirmed that they use Chloramine
