Really quickly before im off to work, i wanted to post a help thread.

I am using a 400 watt agrosun HPS light with a galaxy ballast. A home made reservoir that is about 8-10 gallons. Advanced Nutrients is the brand of Micro Grow and Bloom nuts that i am using. If i missed anything let me know :D

any help would be greatly appreciated. the tips of some new growth are turning yellow, and kind of bending down (the claw effect?)

that's a deficiecny for sure. looking like K or Mg or both. normally happens from excessive salt build ups in the res. when was the last time you changed out ur res?

i change out the water and replace the nuts once a week (every monday). However, i havent really been cleaning it thoroughly because ive been scared of keeping them out for too long.

so your thinking its K or Mg deficiency?

how can i fix?

by the way i added some new photos (the originally intended ones, not the quick before work ones) hopefully this helps :D

thanks for the quick response ^^

What is the ratio u are using the nutes in ml per gallon? For example, this is what I iuse for vegging. Grow=4ml Micro=8ml Bloom=12 (4-8-12), and for Bloom I use 0-8-16.
What is your ppm or ec?
Humidity level & Temperature?
Medium ur using?
How often ur watering?

i have been doing tsp/gal and i have been following the instructions on the back of the bottle. grow: 1.54tsp/gal micro: 2tsp/gal bloom: .31tsp/gal

but i am a big noob as far as mixing my nuts go, and for my next grow i plan on getting an ec ppm and ph meter, as of now i have been using the dropper solution and the pH has been pretty consistent, once i adjust in the begining of the week, it stays pretty ok, i have to adjust it maybe once or when i refil the resevour.

i also read somewhere that you have to put the micro solution in first and let it do its magic for about 10 mins before adding in grow or bloom, any insight?

thanks again :D

yes my pH levels are consistent after i change out the water/nuts and level it out, i hardly have to mess with it all week. however i am not using an electronic ph meter, which could be throwing off my accuracy a bit

to be honest man, it could alot of things. did it start with the oldest fans and move to the second oldest? is it mainly comning from new growth?
furst glance looks like K. second look could be zinc or Fe. If you do some research you will find it is common for all three to be locked out from high ph.

that hps is also very intense for them and adding to the burning/bleaching problem.

your ph drops got to go. hanna digital ph meters for like 30 on ebay or cheaper.
and the res absolutely needsa to be scrubeed at least every 2-3 weeks-they can stay out for a lot longer than you think-up to couple of hours. in fact, I have seen research that concluded that airing out the root zone in dwc once a week led to noticable growth spurts.
u dont need the ec meter for now but do need a quality ppm meter-also 30 bucks on ebay.

I can almost guarantee you that your res ph is close to 7. for now, while you wait for the items for ebay, changed out your res, scrub and refill with nutes and lower your ph by one full percentage point on the chart u use. u r not that far off but are far enough that it is causing issues as they mature. back the lights up a tad for a bit and make sure they get plenty of air circulation. and every week for res change not necessary- try every two weeks and top of as necessary in between.
they will recover but I dont think you have much time before it affects the plant to a point where your end product will be less.

im curious... your talking about the ratio which i have seen a couple of places 1:2:3 veg and 3:2:1 for bloom? i might have that mixed up... but i havent been doing any ratio like that when mixing my nuts. i just add 1.54 teaspoons/gal times how ever many gallons im using (that is for grow and micro) and then bloom is less... but to me it sounds like im screwing up royaly

some insight would be awesome :D

just a little update for anyone who is checking this thread because they have the same problem :D

i went to my local hydro store to ask some questions... and here is what i came out thinking the problem was... the fact that i use Reverse Osmosis water, it lacks some of the natural Calcium and Mg that i was needing. So i bought some CalMag nuts and mixed them in. also i got my new Ph, PPM, and EC meter, which really helped out with knowing exact numbers. about 4 days later and they are looking beautiful again :D

just flipped...

ill post some new updated pics soon ^^
