My Frst Time.....

Well here goes... Its my first time.. Ive been on the net and ordered 3 x Autoflowering Feminised Lowryder #2 AK-47's And there sending me a free UFO DNA Lemon Haze and am waiting on delivery which should be any day now... Ive constructed my grow room which is on a very tight budget... Its the bottom of a standard size wardrobe.. Ive currently got tin foil up but will be replacing that ASAP! due to what ive read on here.. Any ideas for a really cheap solution???... Ive got 3 light fittings.. On suspended in the middle and the other 2 on either side with home made reflecters out of recycled beer cans... (Idea i saw on the net) and have currently got 3 energy saving light bulbs in there.. Probs bout 800 Lumen each.. There just standard ones you buy in tesco... Not Exactly sure if they will do or not... Any help would be appreciated but im on a very low budget...

get the lights closer the pots so that the plants grow faster. With weak lights like that you cant afford to have them so far away.
Also get yourself a themostate and place it by a pot so you can check temp

hey jamez, what litre are your pots and are they the 1s ur using from start to finish? defo get the lights closer like alacn said also what type of cfl's u got there? whats the red to blue ratio. looks fine though

Im not sure what the red to blue ratio is.. as i said im not experienced in this type of stuff at all!!.. There just normal 14wt Energy saving lightbulbs that u can buy in any supermarket or hardware store... im not sure which ones i need to buy????? HELPPPP!!! lol

instead of foil you could paint your room matt white it does the jo just aswell but with no hot-spot's PEACE

Might be a silly question but i wanna get all this right first time round! lol... Wont the fumes from the paint affect the grow?? Cheers for ur input!

Well its been 6 days since my seeds wer germinated.. i checked my cabinet today and 2 have sprouted.. 1 is on its way through and the 4th hasnt shown any sight of seedling yet... Ive been thinking about investing in a decent light for my girls... And suggestions on what i should get?... Ohh.. Recently ive added 2 more pc fans at the top of the cabinet and im using the 2 i had orginally for blowing the air out and up the back of my cabinet.. im not too bothered about masking the smell as im always smoking in here anyways but i think the temperature is now roughly about 23-24C Ive only got any old fashioned tmperature thing that the balls inside rise and fall when the temperature changes but its pretty acurate.. Cheers for ur help guys!! ...

3x 14w CFL is really pushing the lower limits of lighting. You should really get some 6500k 26w cfls for veg and 2700k for flowering. If you want to get more than an eighth of weed by week 8 of flowering I would highly recommend a decent HID or at the very least a 100w CFL. I would only recommend CFL for vegetating or sidelighting. If you want production you are going to have to shell out a few dollars. How much did the seeds cost?

Yeaaa.. I hear u!!.. Any chance u could provide me with some links to some appropriate lighting.. And they wer just under 40 quid (English slang for £) for 3 and i got 1 for free... There lowryder#2 X AK-47 Autoflowering!... didnt want anything too complicated for my first time.. The freebie is Lemon Haze.. so fingers crossed.. Cheers for all your help btw

Well its day 8 and my little girls are lukin bigger by the day!!.. Ive baught myself a 250w HPS Grow light from ebay and that should be here within a week or so!!! Woop Woop!.. That should solve my lighting needs .. Also i have a pic update.. For yas.. All 4 girls have sprouted and are doing well.. Ones bein slower that the other 3 But it was a free seed and is a different strain so im not too bothered about it!.. (PICS!!! Pics 1-3 are the Lowryder ak-47's and pic 4 is the freebie lemon haze...

nice nice i am doing the exact same thing but in a chimney lol mine is more stealth i have cfls and am not sure about the 2700k, 6500k shit no clue what that means im gonna google the shit now good luck dude and looking good Uk growers unite (btw did u mix anything with the soil)

nope did mix anything.. Its just normal potting compost i think.. gran got it from the garden centre

After advice on here and from other sources ive moved my plants a lot closer to the lights i have atm and have just managed to get hold of a 250W HPS for 25 quid!!! fuckin bargain!!! lol should have that in a couple of days ..
