Hows it going folks,
Firstly if you read this, thank you. Im a pretty new grower but this site has been my saviour. Ive been pretty busy getting the basics down and reading stickys. Below is a run through of my grow and some questions i have. Mostly regarding SOG.
Im going to be attemting my third grow soon. Week 3 of flowering is going on now in the second grow, some Burmese Kush and Power Plant.
Growing in 2gallon pots with plagron all mix (soil
). Using Biobizz nutes
I grow fem seeds as this is a temp setup until i move out in 6 months. Im just learning and lurking rollitup mostly.
I dont have a mother yet but theres some random seed i got vedging for about a month now under a 125cfl vedge bulb. Nothing done to it yet (ie lst, topped,fem) but im considering making it a moma if i go ahead with a SOG cause i dont wanna wait another 2 months before i have a viable plant to clone from (which ive never done, i must say in shame). Suggestions??. Almost forgot, i have 2 plants from the same seeds flowering in 6inch pots. Its 2 weeks in flowering, i have cut all lower braches and most lower leaves off one, looked a bit down yesterday, but lookin looks like shes recovering slowly. On the second plant nothing has been done to it and its kinda at the back just doing its own this. Not getting alot of direct light but its looking healty.
Looks like a indica dominant hybrid. This funked me right up as i could of swore those seeds were nigerian brick weed thats brought in. The 3 of them all streched so much early that i was convined it was pure sativa, but the strech has stopped and its indica overtaking sativa in the shape and size of leaves and height growth rate, but still has the sativa branch spacing. Gonna be a nice surprise i hope.
First grow yielded about 4.5oz from 3 plants. Had more but, were male. Thats what happenins when you try to grow MK Ultra from seed. Not sayin it cant be done, but i wouldnt like to see your seed bill at the end of the month tryin to find a female.
The area is built under a stairs and is 2.5feet wide x 2.8feet deep x 4 foot high (This Height is from the floor to the max height the plant can grow too, whilst not getting burnt from the bulb)
I am growing with CFL's. In the flowering room there is 2 Sunmate Reflectors with 2 250w floweing bulbs. Behind them is another 125w that is moved to fill dull spots when needed.
There is a 12inch flan for circulation and a 6inch inline fan on top blowing the air into a cupboard above. Temp is 76 df and 64 when the lights are off.
I can fit 6 of those pots in the room perfectly (Just looked at one and it says 23x23xH26 cm), all be it a little pushing a showin going on but i really dont think i can get my yield improved alot by doing so. The 250 bulb might be bright but it really cant get into the lower parts of the plant and the lower branches are generally crap.
So i think a SOG would be better suited. But would you use the big pots i already have or a smaller one. I can fit about 12 6inch pots.
Basically which do you think given the above rantings of a madman would give better yield. Or if you have any other suggestions/questions/comments please shoot away.
