that was some great growth for only 10 days.
from vendor syringes your lucky to see growth in under 10 days.
Just a tip from a long time veteran grower.
Get a 20lb bag of "Wild Bird Seed" you can usually find them for between $6-$10
then get a $12 coffee grinder. and grind the seed to flour. should have a corn meal consistency. (course is ok)
and use that instead of brown rice flour with the classic 2:1:1 recipe (Verm:WBSf:water)
WBSf has a wider variety of nutes. and is cheaper. and easier to find. its better all around.
also go to your local post office (if your in the USA) and grab a stack of "Tyvek envelopes" they look like paper but you know they are tyvek if you cant tear them with your fingers. they are labeled in red, or blue with the words "express" or "priority" on them.
Next when your making your jars, place this over your jar, and then place the whole envelope over the jar. then press the jar ring down on the envelope and screw down tight. dont use the metal lid at all. this will give you a double layer of tyvek. your your ready to innoculate your jars, stab the needle straight though the tyvek, and inject the spores. then just place some tape (medical is better) over the needle holes.
^^^ this is the #1 thing i wish someone had told me sooner. tyvek is a godsend. its free, and disposable. the only thing with tyvek is you should place your jars in a sealed container while they colonize. because if you have the tyvek jars in open air, they can get a little dry at the top. i dont think jars should ever be in open air anyway. but some poeple who like to leave there jars on a shelf in open air sometimes have problems.
