my previous home depot style 12 quart (3 gallon) pots hold about 35% more soil than the tall 5 gallon ones...

3.14*[(10.625+8.25)/4]^2*12
839 cu. in.---> 3.6 gallons

ever try kitty litter container free and great for l s t drill around top band holes on bottom and sides near bottom for air
