My new HLG/Samsung 2x2 photon blaster

I built a new lamp for my new 5sq ft tent (27"x27"). The goals of the project were to; 1) provide a relatively even footprint 2) incorporate deep reds 3) have a seed to finish spectrum and 4) crank out up to 40w per sq ft (~200w total). In the end I got more than I bargained for while also keeping the price down fairly low thanks to an HLG QB-11 sale and the price of these strips coming down recently.

The build consists of:
(6) Samsung H-Influx 3500k 2' strips, pn: SL-B8U3N80LAWW
(2) HLG QB-11 (660nm) 2' strips
(1) Meanwell xlg-200-24-a driver
(2) 20" 20/80 1" extrusions
(

Heatsinkusa 1" extrusion heatsinks 24"(L)

Lamp is capable of 265w from the wall at full crank (measured). Driver is remote (and grounded). This is my first parallel build and damn parallel wiring is fugly but I did my best to keep it clean and also provide some strain releif.

Looking good. You could always extend and route to a project box mounted on your lamp, at a later date if the exposed wiring continues to bother you. Or have a look in iPerculates thread for inspiration. Several have posted their builds in there.

Thanks for the link - I definitely thought about a terminal strip or adding a gland box. I never leave builds alone so who knows

What did you use to connect the 80/20 to the alum heatsink like what screws do you use to put them together been wanting to know for a while

@Gond00s Hey man, I bought these https://www.amazon.com/80-20-Slide-Economy-T-Nut/dp/B00JF7AIEM/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=80/20+1/4-20+x+1"&qid=1584214566&sr=8-5 and from my local hardware store (think Ace) I bought 16 1/4-20 x 1" stainless steel screws (3/4" was too short)

1/4 an inch looks like it wont fit between the fins of the heatsink how did u do that?

If you are accurate with your drill (or lucky enough to have a drill press) you can manage to just shave off the edges of the two fins. A couple of the fins got a bit turned from the drill bit but you can't even see it since it's under the extrusion and it won't affect anything anyway. I have a crappy hand drill so to be as accurate as possible I first used a punch tool and then used two progressively larger drill bits to create a nice starter hole for my 1/4". Out of 16 holes, all but one were about as dead on as I could get without a press. Take your time - I ordered 2 extra extrusions thinking that I would mess one up since they're only about $5 ea, takes the pressure off lol
