Too much nitrogen as you mentioned. The edges are probably due to heat stress. Is that a 1000 HPS? Or MH? Is it in an air cooled hood or a Cool Tube or just an open reflector?

I start with 25 percent with Hesi from week one, building to 75 percent by week 4 of veg.

Ppms at 250, so I didn't think I was over nuteing
Organic soil with perlite

I don't know about heat stress if temps are 77-82F; although, a 10 degree difference used to be the rule of thumb for the optimal temperature shift between 'day' and 'night'.

watering to 30% runoff seems good--how many days between watering / what counts as 'half dry'?

If you're just 2 weeks into flower and you were on a 24/0 light schedule and you're already feeding at 60%, there's a good chance its the nitrogen overabundance you first thought, but it might be getting impacted by the hesi nutes you're adding to that situation. If you only vegged for 2 weeks there should be enough food in the soil to last another week or so, even during the stretch.

I know next to nothing about Hesi but I do have some experience with other bottled liquid organic nutrients and found that they weren't very pH stable without pre-aerating and such. You might be getting caught up in something like that, too.

I'd say cut back on the nutes, feed an aact (1-2 Cups fresh earthworm compost, 2 tbsp blackstrap molasses, a pinch of kelp meal and a dram of fish hydrolysate, bubble vigorously for 24-36hrs) undiluted, and see how they respond over the next two weeks of light/no nute watering.

be easy,

:peace:
