my poor little sprouts!

hi there

so i just put my tray of peat cubes with my freshly germinated sprouts in them. the next day, i noticed a couple of the sprouts are just laying on top of the cube, with a duck beak-shaped thing at one end and pointy on the other. what should i do?

should i push it back down into the soil? or is that one a lost cause??

im a total newb so any help is totally appreciated.

thanks!

first off take a closer look at the sprouts... im guessing(from no pictures) that the seed casing is still attached to your sprouts top set of embriotic leaves, which in turn is weighing the sprout down causing it to lay ontop of the medium. you can either brace the sprout up with toothpicks and twist-ties and keep an eye on it until eventually a few days later it falls off... OR... you could brace the sprout up and carefully with tweezers pull the seed casing off of the sprout but be cautious not to harm the sprout! peat cubes/pods dry out rather quickly as well! so make sure you keep them somewhat moist but not saturated! if the sprouts dont have enough water they will wilt/droop over! peat cubes/pods are great for sprouting but DO NOT LET THEM DRY OUT!!!!!!
