Seedlings don't need nutrients. I think it is best to start over if you can. The recovery time required screws up the whole grow IMHO.

throw it out, read about growing and try again. if youre not going to at least get some basic knowledge then all youre really doing is asking people to babysit your grow and this isnt the place for that

It should recover if, 1. You keep it away from your friend and 2. Nothing but water for awhile and that only as needed.

Don't try and fix it or love it to death.

My kid did the same thing, using SS mix instead of my seed starter mix. Really badly burnt and we both wanted to pull it up. But, it was outside and not in the way so it was left to see what happened. Did nothing but water (left it in the SS), and it is now a very nice bush.

It's not going to cost anything to let it go and you can start another seed if you feel the need. Won't be out any more time than if you did toss it.

See what happens and learn something.

get coco fiber, wet it, and carefully place the seedling in it. give it 12 hours of light/dark and and wait 2 weeks. IF you want to salvage it. I would salvage it if it was a $30 seed and/or some super rare shit.

I wouldn't toss it too quick. It could be fine. It may have slow growth for a week but if the damage isn't too bad it will pull through. Keep an eye on it and see if it shows any new growth. Wider leaves, new set of leaves, height, etc.

I know it'd be a lot easier to just start over but I hate giving up without knowing definitively it's fried.

seedling? what's it in? solo cup?
you might be able to transplant it, could be a option.
you could let it ride see what happens.
you could try and flush.
all depends how severe the problem is.
you should take a couple pics so we can see the severity of the problem.
seedling in soil only need water for the first 3 weeks or so. depends how hot your soil is with nutrients.
