i have a tent, its 4 ft tall, 4 ft wide, and about 20" deep, not the biggest space but it works

im ordering a new light and soil/nutes, tired of dealing with the T5 the tent originally came with and the shitty miracle grow.
im new to growing to i was curious to see what others thought of my shopping list before i continue buying...



was also wanting to know if the 250watt HPS would make my tent too hot?

well, despite the fact that yes, I think a 250W would be too hot in there without major cooling, the tent's only 4ft tall total? You have to think about your vertical space first. The HPS is going to make them grow many times taller than flouros

That light is probably 8-10" tall, and your pots are probably the same. That leaves you with a total of 2ft of growing space, including the 12'' under the light where it's going to burn your plants. So you could have 12'' tall plants under a 250 HPS? Never going to happen. They are going to grow right up into the light and burn up. Even with LST etc

Also, that seems like an outrageous price for that light... You can easily get a 400W system elsewhere for the same price. Also, shipping 3 cubic feet of soil? I'd advise against it. on top of being a little suspicious, I'd say you save money by finding a good garden center if not a hydro shop locally

so there should be about a foot of space between the light and the plants?
ive looked around, htg seems to have decent prices, anywhere else you can refer me too? and yeah i thought about the soil situation, i really dont want to order it, but i dont know where to find anything locally

yeah, I think you will be much happier with the closet space in the long run... personally, I have ordered several things from HTG, I have their mother/clone tent and it's perfect. I do highly recommend them. Have you looked for any garden centers or even a Lowes/Home depot near you? Could you use backyard soil with additives? You have some options. If not, ordering the soil one time isn't too bad, you just get killed on the shipping. You are right to think it is better to get two bags than have to order twice though.
