My spot has a lot of tall grass

I found a nice location for my grow. There's a lot of tall grass in the area with an extensive root system. I should be able to dig a nice hole and add my own soil but I'm concerned about the grass roots taking over my soil and crowding out my plant. I was thinking of using a pot but will only be able to water every other week. Anyone have advice for planting in tall grass?

Marijuana grows fast but some kinds of grasses will outpace it by quite a bit. I put a patch inside a spot of tall grass one time and it wasnt the best placement. Getting into the grass without leaving a trail is hard. I had to stomp/cut back the grass around my plants every time I went in. And the worst part is that will all the protection from wind/predators the bugs go crazy in the grass. Never have I had an outdoor plant suffer so much from bugs. The same strain that I put in a few other places where it had no problems at all.

Whether or not this will be the case for you idk, but I won't be looking for tall grass this season.

dig a nice big square hole as deep as you can. place boards or pieces of plywood inside the hole to make a box. the top of the boards should be just flush or a little above ground level. fill with good soil. as long as you have good drainage out the bottom you should be good and the roots wont get in. you may not have to go as deep as the hole with the boards, it depends how deep the grass roots are growing.

make some small raised beds if your not worried about anyone stumbling upon it. they work great.
