My story.

Hi folks my story about my ladies, So many posts i have seen on here do this do that nut burn blah blah, Well My girls are now 7th week in flower today, 3 weeks ago on youtube some arse did a video chop 80% leafs of to get the light to the flower,
Well like a Dipstick I thought why not I can do that, Worse thing ever GRRR 2 days later viewing my ladies all my leafs was yellow and curled under And dry As you can imagine the shock I was in.
I left the girls alone and feed like crazy for the past 3 weeks using tomato fertilizer and bid bud, Now my girls look healthy sigh of relief I Can Say folks from personal experience. Do Not go over board cutting them leafs back, and do not listen to all the bull crap vids on youtube. Let the lady's grow and leave the leafs alone. I am now 2 weeks behind because of listening and watching vids on youtube. well that's my rant over happy growing.

This goes for everybody in general who go and scope Youtube for "Tips"

Don't pay much attention to vids on Youtube unless you know what you are doing. First things first read up on good Marijuana grow books like: Jorge Cervantes' Grow Bible and The Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green - These books contain all what you need to know about cannabis and the like, there are many other books as well but these have pretty much all the info you need. Gorge will be the first to tell you never, never, ever trim back your leaves, they contain all the vital foods for your plant. When leaves are yellowing and curling they can be pulled via your finger of the stem quite easily, but that is it as far as "trimming" leaves go.

Youtube is good for tips and tricks, some of witch, of not most is a load of crap, so first get to know what there is to know by the guys who have spent their lives on this topic. And when in doubt, ask the RIU community first before attempting.

yes a lot of silly people on YouTube stick with riu friend. I recently watched a vid where the creator told the world to flower for 5 months or something silly (trichomes had turned amber yonks ago), "to increase yield", no kidding!

Nuts. A few months back went youtubing crazy for more info on LST'ing, DWC and RDWC and the like and it's like a bloody whirlpool of nonsense - most vids is only a showoff.

Having and understanding of marijuana sourced from books, not vids, will aid you filtering the bullshit from the goodshit. I started out asking a load of silly question on RIU at first but was told by a avid RIU member to READ UP, and since then the books have been the source to answer those Q's.

yeah dude, youtube is mostly full of shit, there's a few good Jorge Cervantes vids on there.. even though his advice is sometimes disputed by advanced growers, he's still a million miles ahead of the noobs posting their shitty vids. Surprised you fell for the leaf thing.. I have always understood deep down to my core that the plants NEED their leaves... it's the leaves that collect the light energy, the light energy that gets transformed into sugars and used by the plant to grow... less leaves.. less grow. How does that not make sense to people. The advice you can get is to search for the marijuana plant symptom chart and study it and try and make your own diagnoses, bearing in mind that cannabis generally is a very Nitrogen hungry plant, which will appear as an over all light green appearance followed by yellowing fans from the bottom up , and also uses a lot of magnesium and calcium during the stretching phase. Magnesium def starts off as like a marbling effect, where the parts of the leaf go light green but the veins stay dark, and calcium is like brown spots which may appear like nute burn ,but if your using tap water depending on hardness you may well get all the calcium you need, I only get n defs and Mag defs usually.

RIU is not much better. Just ask a basic question here and see how many answers you get. Ask again a week later and you get a whole new set of answers. Get a couple books from know growers with controlled environments.

Best advice, give yourself time to learn through trial and error and build your gardening skills. We live in a world of instant gratification. Mother nature does NOT play by those rules.

Avoid the old grow bibles, they are outdated as fuck, especially the Cervantes books.

Go get a current book on botany.

You will be a much better grower for it.
