MY weed smells like HAY!! WHY??

Hi there everyone,

I Have finally grown my first crop of weed and I was so happy until today when I went in to check on how i's drying. It smells like hay!! Can anyone tell me why this is please? When it was growing and when I chopped it, it smelt amazing.
Please can some help me?
Strain is barnys farm blue cheese and it is on day 4 of drying. I have it in a cool dark ventilated area about 65-70 degrees and humidity 45-45 %.

I am by no means an expert! That said, My few grows I've done were like that. I chopped the plant with cloudy/amber trichs, Started the dry and got them into the containers when the stems snapped. Right after they were chopped and started drying they seemed to get that hay smell. All of mine though reverted back to it's nice smell after it had some time in the container when curing. just dont let it get much higher if you have a choice

Happens with mine all the time. Take a bud and put in a small container for a day and you should smell something when you open it.

Gave my brother a cutting of a strain i'm growing, his tastes like shit and has no smell and a bag of mine will fill the entire house.
The difference is he dry's it too fast where as mine sits in the closet to dry over 4-7 days.

Most drying weed goes through the ' smells like hay '' few days, don't worry, perfectly normal, some weeds go through the ' smells like cats piss '' stage which is way more worrying than hay
