mylar- about 5% more reflectivity, Im not sure if this adds up to a lot over time but I see how it could. The bw poly is a lot more durable, mylar is very thin hard to keep smooth, you can smooth out the poly as long as you keep it taught. comes down to if you want that extra 5%, mylar is pretty easy to work with you just gotta be gentle and make sure its well secured. Personally I use mylar. but most if not every grow tent is lined with the same poly, it really reflective and still extremely durable. on htgsupply.com Ive heard of them sending the bw poly instead of mylar to people...

I use mylar sheets I salvage from dying/dead flower arrangements, usually set beside dumpsters at cemeteries. 2'X2" sheets. I fix those to cardboard cut to size, then attach the cardboard to the walls w/duct tape/staples. Makes the mylar more durable and re-usable.
No idea on poly.

I love the Black and white poly compared to the mylar. The b&w to me personally is more reflective then the mylar.

Mylar is just a big pain in the ass. wrinkles quick and when it does its pointless to keep it why cause the wrinkle can cause heated spots towards your plant which is a big no no.

The bw poly is reusable durable contains in the light and when in the lights are off it makes it hella dark

hell it even the contains the smell in i have been told numberous times from fellow growing buddies who always comes in trying to find the scent and says he cant believe it never smells in my house. thats real.

never again will i buy mylar

then buy it jon!!! I just got a fat set up offa htgsuppy, 6' inline fan, cooltube, digi 600w ballast, hps600, mh600 conversion...and 25ft of mylar. haha that 5% will always get me and those smooth sheets if you keep em smooth are the bomb, and 5.0

poly is, 90% reflective mylar, 95% reflective. mylar is some of the most reflective stuff you can buy (why so many use it) but if your not good with working with it, that black and white poly is a great alternative. You can also just get flat white paint and paint your walls. The poly is like hanging tarp on your wall, seems like a little more protection, but that mylar can be wiped clean just as easy. Hiphip HOORAY!!!

be wary though, grow tents are lined with the same kind of poly. and a lot of grow tents have been killing ladies left n right.

I use b&w poly and it is a lot easier to hang than mylar. It is light proof and comes in different thicknesses and is very cheap. I choose b&w poly over mylar!

mylar looks cool and it does have the 5%, but after lining the walls in my groom with it, i'll buy poly next time around pain in the ass trying to get it to not wrinkle.

staple gun, I have three fans and a humidifier and it looks like I have mirrors hangin on the walls, what works for some doesn't for others. I put panda film on the ground, as for the walls the mylar is more efficent, and cooler lookin. more mylar for me.

oh and as for the tents, I have no idea, I looked into a couple different tents they sell at my hydroponics store. On this site there were a good couple pages of poor saps whose plants mysteriously died after being put into these new tents, new darkroom and some other kind. I guess vapor coming off the material the tent is made of, I really dont know. Yes they could use some different poly, but whatever it is that lines those tents, it looks exactly like b/w poly or panda film. so I don't know I just don't know...ever heard of bad room syndrom?
