Natural and artificial light mix

Sup fam, first time grower here.. and I have some questions about mixing natural and artificial light for outdoor plants. Today there was about 14 hours of sunlight in LA. (what Google told me) If I wanted to get my plant to veg for a longer period before I decide to flower it, can I use artificial light to keep it in veg. If yes, what kind of light will I get to provide that extra 4 hours of light to put me at 18/6. and then I'll let nature take it course after I'm ready to flower them.

Thanks yall!!

You're wanting to put lights outdoors? Did I get that right?

I'm pretty sure they'll stay vegging for a good while with what time of year it is right now. The sun is counted from when the first rays peak over the horizon around 4am till they all have set around 10pm. That gives around 18 hours. Then the days start getting shorter in a couple months and they'll naturally flower. I'm a state north of you but my o/d always finished around Halloween.

yeah i catch the sunrise at about 530 and it's barely peaking over a building behind me.. but that answers my question. So from that time there, I can start counting hours my plant would be getting light? I'm just afraid of letting them go and them start flowering before I want them to. And any idea of what kind of light I should invest in?

Well...how many plants? Potted or in ground? Are you worried about neighbors seeing the light?

Yea the sunrise here is about the same time but the sky starts to brighten around 4 and that triggers your plants to start waking up...but I'm out the country a bit, no skyline blocking early ambient light.
