Natural Lighting / Shade

I am doing an outdoor grow as you can see in my gallery. I have a question about it. I wanted to move my ladies in the shade to help promote flowering as they just started a week or two ago. Will this hurt them? They will get about 4 hrs of direct light and the rest of the day will be in the shade? Is shade considered "in the 12/12 equation? Thanks for any help:mrgreen:

dude im lost, i mean why would u put 4 hours sunlight and 20 hours shade. whatr ur gonna do is make them think winters coming cuase its alot darker most the day and little light. so what there gonna do is turn hermie on ya to reproduce and make seeds to stay a live through the winter. dude this is not equivilant to 12/12 as far as i know but from what ur saying its a big NO NO but im not an outdoor grower

ya i forgot to say total darkness, dude ur best bet if ur doing outdoor is go with what god does when the sunrishes ur plant has light. when it is night time its on darkness ok. dont do shade thats stupid unless u can light proof an area outside its hard to light proof the sun might as well do it indoors

Thanks for the advice everyone. Since this is my first grow i appreciate your help! I will keep them in the same spot they have grown up in.
but one other question... i live in a tropical zone that has rain every day or every few days in the afternoon. What about the shade that causes from the clouds? Does that have any effect on them?

may slow or may help growing iunno u should ask in the outdoor growing section. i know the rain will help but not if its pooring hard for long itmes itw ill drown the plant and create root rot. if this kidna weather is a foot to u i recommend making a small box with the right lightning and bringing ur plants inside till this ends and the soils back to normal
