i know target sells some good cameras that a x of mine bought. I dont remember the name though. It was pink.. I would buy that though it was about 100 bucks.

dude i think it might just be the skin that comes with it, if you take it off then its gray... and even if it was pink, i hope not everyone knows you grow... And I hope even more that they dont get ahold or see the camera you take pics of them with!

The canon a530 is a very affordable price(any of ther canon A cameras would do you well). It has a programable shoot mode. In this shoot mode their is a Foliage mode which is great for shooting plants. However when zooming in you will get kinda blurly. Only 5 megapixels. If you looking for something that can shoot things like hairs on the buds with professional look(which i would enjoy for you upcoming journal) I would go with something that had 7-10 meagpixels. However you are looking some where in th range of $400.00 for a camera that can shoot that kind of detail. The power shot S5 IS would be a great camera and would do everything you could ever want to do with it.

Ricoh Caprio r3 is what i use for the finer pics, otherwise i just use a nokia n73 camera phone. Heres some pics from the ricoh.

Go for the Nikon D80. Prosumers most economical choice. Can't beat the quality and the Chuck Norris respect level.
