Need a Caregiver?

Hello Maine,
I am accepting medical marijuana patients to provide for. I know it can be sometimes difficult to find a reliable medical marijuana caregiver. It's my mission to change that by providing reliable, healthy, quality marijuana.
I currently reside in Farmington, ME with my fiance. Quite recently her stepfather became a MMJ user and introduced me to becoming a MMJ caregiver for those who cant grow on their own or need to be taught how to grow. :-P

My pledge:

  • I am clean and sanitary with my work (no pets, cigarettes, dust, etc)

  • I will be using all organic nutrients and soils to achieve healthier and smoother hitting marijuana. You don't want petroleum based fertilizers and poison being used on your medicine.

  • I will always have medical marijuana to provide when needed

  • Thoroughly understand client confidentiality/HIPAA

  • I will deliver on time. Rain, snow, or shine!

  • I will be able to provide tasty organic edibles and tinctures after I obtain a food establishment permit. Gluten free edibles will be available on request.
Message me for my telephone number and we can talk more!:leaf:

Whats the benefits to joining a group like CCMaine?
Do you folks have a prepaid legal team that would stand up for your caregivers if the got pinched by the state (or feds for that matter) as long as they are compliant with the Maine laws?

What problem did you have with Attitude freelife? I have ordered from them twice and had no issues. My first order a couple years ago was to a different bank AMS in Holland, and I had no problem with them either, although Attitude has more selection.

There have been no real big problems with attitude it’s just getting a card that will work on overseas orders. Then waiting, then since I’m new I really have no idea how well any of these plants grow, besides the review that the seller gives. I would much rather deal with a known indoor breed that I can seek growing tips on from another care provider, if I have problems. It’s just hard growing from seed to finish and keeping a person supplied with meds. I’m human and as always looking for short cuts lol.

Hey MYWhat -

CCM is a growing network of great folks that are all about moving the Maine MMJ program forward responsibly for everyone's benefit. Right now we have 45-50 caregivers "formally" in the network, meaning they have been interviewed and then asked to join the network as full members. Right now, we do have a team of lawyers as our general counsel for the organization, but do not yet offer legal services directly from the organization. That said, members of CCM do get a discounted rate on legal services from the same law firm that represents the organization as general counsel.

We hold monthly meetings in both Portland and the Bangor/Ellsworth areas, where caregivers and patient alike can come together to discuss hot topics, share information and knowledge and brainstorm about how we can continue to improve the current law to make it easier for everyone to operate and do so legally. For example we just had our more recent Portland meeting last night and one of the big topics of discussion is the lunacy of the current law that doesn't allow for caregivers to sell their excess to dispensaries that are actually open. None of the dispensaries are accepting new patients right now, because they don't have adequate supply. This only hurts the patient, which was not the intent of the original law that passed in 2009. Allowing caregivers to sell their excess to dispensaries would be a win-win-win-win:

1. The state can collect tax on the sale from caregiver to dispensary, as well as from dispensary to patient (you have to think in terms of a politician if you want them to listen, and what do politicians understand? Your vote and your tax dollars!)
2. Dispensaries would be able to greatly improve their supply without having to increase their production as dramatically (beyond the obvious solving of the current supply issues at dispensaries, this also would cut down on energy usage by pulling from the excess from caregivers from grows that are already going on anyway.)
3. Patients would have easier and safer access to their medicine. (The original intent of the law, duh.)
4. Caregivers would have a safe and legal way to dispose of excess while still being able to be compensated for it. This is more income for the caregiver which means more tax dollars, which should also cut down on the incentive to turn to black market activity with excess. Lastly it would be also beneficial for the patients, as I would think would allow of caregivers to take on more low income patients and provide them medicine at a very low cost or no cost at all! This helps solve the current problem of low income patients not being able to either afford a dispensary, or find a competent caregiver that is willing to provide their medicine at little to no cost, based on verification of financial hardship.

Sorry for the rant, but I was actually just in the process of drafting these ideas for the CCM site forums, and it just kinds spilled out! Contact us if you want to learn more about the group!

Cheers,

Sully

Thanks, CCMaine for going into detail about what you folks are all about.

I have been thinking about becoming a caregiver. I just had to get past the hole debate in my head. I didn't want to just jump in, so I have been doing a lot of reading. I think I'm going to wait till early spring so I can finish the construction of my new building to proceed. I already have the building up but need to get a new service entrance, insulation, and a few other minor projects done.

Thanks again for the info,

"incentive to turn to black market activity"

The thing that bothers me is dispensaries selling "medicine" to people for black market prices or more. Thats just wrong. Its not a supply issue either, as this is a huge problem in California....well ....for most states. Dispensary weed should never be higher then black market prices.Shouldn't even be close

I hear ya, corners. I was kind of surprised to learn that mmj would be going at street prices from dispensaries when they first came about here. If they charge really outrageous prices I supposed they'll cite quality etc. They worry about diversion to the black market of mmj of course. But when you think about it, diversion is most likely at street prices and certainly if disp weed is less expensive. The surest way to prevent diversion is if disp weed is more expensive. I'm not saying that's the reason though, I'm sure it isn't.

Sully - patients need to be able to sell overage within the system as well. I can not support a system that continues to force me as a patient to give my overage away while caregivers are allowed additional privileges with their overage.

IIRC, this was DHHS reasoning at the time. Dispensary cannabis priced lower than black market rates would encourage diversion. There were a couple articles mentioning this published during DHHS first rule-making session in 2010.

the dispensaries will never be able to produce enough weed to have any of it go to the black market......
