Need a little help with first cab grow

An unexpected girl arrived on my doorstep last night, and I just didn't have the heart to turn her away. Now I need somewhere to raise her...

I've got a grow tent but due to circumstances I can't use it this time around, so I figured why not try a stealth cab this time. I've built the box out of random wood, it just needs a back and a front door. I was thinking just a thin sheet of ply or something for the back, and a single sheet or possible hinged doors on the front.

My dimensions are: H - 890mm (2.9ft)
W - 570mm (1.8ft)
L - 810mm (2.6ft)


I'll be running 21w 4" inline fans for in/out and probably a small desktop fan inside the cab for circ. It will also be lined with some of that white/black plastic I got from the hydro shop.

My available lighting is: 1x 250w HPS
2x 125w CFL 6500k
1x 125w CFL 2700k
An assortment of 20-30w 6500k & 2700k CFLs

What lighting should I go with? I know CFL will be better for heat issues but I'm yet to finish a plant under the HPS so kinda wanna use it to see the difference ^.^

Is there anything else I should take into account?

I really do not see the HPS lamp in that box, way to much heat, unless you have an A/C unit ducted to allow cold air to flow into the box.

My grow cabinet is 40"w x 61"h x 36"deep, and no AC for it, so I went with the LED tower for lighting it up.

You can always hook up your HPS set up, see how hot the box will run before ever putting a plant under such heat.

Do you have a cool tube for the 250 watt HPS, or a sealed hood for it so that the heat can be kept separate?

Oh and I line my grow area with Panda Plastic, white side facing the light.

If you have good airflow through the light and exhausted through a filter (not ideal) that HPS would be great. Otherwise, an assortment of CFLs works OK too. In my experience, the HPS will give much more solid buds than the CFL will. Similar quality buds, just less weight with CFL.
