Hey dudes im new to this site, anyway im really excited cause i found a seed!!! can you belive it?
anyway i need a little information. k first the outside of the seed is slightly cracked, so will it work. It should cause seed are supposed to pull thro the tuffest things. K second, it is a seed from some mexican dirt weed so the mexican shit is mainly indian or indica so what is the expected height it will come to? K, third :D how long will it takes once the seed is germinated for it to come thro the dirt and sprout. I got it germinating in a cup-o-water right now im really excited. K fourth, im planning on growing it behind my shed so i was planning on digging a hole and filling it with soil but if the roots outgrow the hole and go into normal dirt will it be ok? the dirt here is really fertile and used to grow different crops and stuff. Ok, fifth umm this one guy told me you have to be really carfull and sanatize everything and make sure you use filtered water to water it. Can i just put it in its starter cup and put some fertilizer on it and use some sing water? lol k thanks

first off, your never sure if any seed is gonna germ and the only way to find out is to do it, so just go ahead and germ the thing.(i use the paper towel mthod but its your call)
second off, plant height can only be guessed at even if you know the plants genetics, if your growing indoors then its you that controls the height(more or less), this is all to do with when u change from vegging(say 18/6 for arguments sake) to flowering(12/12), whatever height the plant is when u chang the plant will double and may even treble in height, so be careful if uv got limited height space.
when the seed is germinated it can take anything between a day and a week to pop thru(in general, there are no exacts in this)
TAKE THE BLOODY SEED OUTTA THE CUP OF WATER, dunno who the tell told you to germ like this but its wrong, the seed needs to be kept damp and warm, not soaking wet, there are different ways of germing but i'll tell u my way, its the paper towel method and probably the most commonly used method(although some hate it); i soak my seed for 24 hours in a cup of water, then i get aplate and lay a paper towel/kitchen towel/ass paper on it , spray it with clean water till its moist/damp but not soaking ,lay your seed(s) on it, cover with more absorbent paper and spray again, just to dampen it, cover the whole lot with a bowl or cup and put in a warm dark place. check and spary every day until the seed cracks and u see the little root pop out. next put in pot/cup with sum seedling soil(it has no nutrients in it), at this point u want ur little plant to be warm and humid so cover it witha clear palstic cup, if u dont havea propagotor then get acoke bottle cut it in half and pop it over the plant to keep the humidity in, dont water the soil direct instead spary the inside of the coke bottle with water, do this every few hours, after a few days or a week take the coke bottle off and remember to keep ur plant close to the light, if its far away it'll stretch, become skinny and fall over, get a little fan blowing on it, this helps the stalk to thicken.
sanitizing is helpful but not really necessary, plants manage to grow outside dont they.
water is a complicated issue and always provokes arguments in this site, loads of opinions! i personally use tap water that i leave sitting in a bucket for 2 or 3 days , this allows chlorine gas to escape(but does nothing about chlorate!) and brings the water up to room temperature.
dunno about your outside soil coz im an indoor grower.
best of luck
