Hi everyone! I found some seeds in a batch that I decided to plant. Lo and behold they sprouted! Now, I am in the process of taking care of the babies. I need some feedback about the plants; do they look healthy and optimal? I have some curling of the tips on the new growth, and read that it could be nitrogen toxicity? It is also pretty hot in my house (around 80..A/C doesn't do a good job) where they are growing. I live in Mid-MO so humidity gets pretty gnarly. I read somewhere that these plants don't enjoy heat and humidity too much. I have a fan blowing on them in hopes that it will cool them down. I use tap water that has been sitting out in the open at least 24 hours. I hear that if tap water is set out for at least 24 hours, some of the chlorine and fluoride and what not is evaoperated. Will tap water harm my plants? Is there some truth to this "24-hour tap water detox" thing?
I recently moved them to new pots, and I am using Fox Farm aquatic blend soil. I have them on 24/0 light regime. Since I switched them to this light regime, they have doubled in size within a week! The leaves have a nice citrus-y smell! I'm just afraid that I may have missed something... I don't fertilize them...because the soil is new and I just planted them about a week ago.
Should I be worried? I hear dark green leaves and curled tips is problematic. If it IS nitrogen toxicity, how can I correct this? Should I be worried from the looks of the pictures? Any advice, recommendations and feedback is welcome.
Thanks guys!
