Hello all, still getting used to the whole Cree COB lights and how it all works but im starting to get the ball rolling, for personal and financial reasons DIY is most likely out of my options (for now).I have come down to two choices.

The grow area: 4x4 scrog with 6-8 plants.

Number one: Johnson Grow Light CX-9
Total of 9 CXA3070 chips running at 1.33a on a single panel
Now because this is a single panel it must sit at 30" above the canopy to cover the 4x4 canopy, knocking down a few points off the ppfd, here is the par map sent to me at 30" canopy distance. Supposedly equivalent to 1000w HPS

Number two: GO GREEN LEDs 4 pack of 4COB 200w lights.
Total of 16 CXB3070 chips running at 1.33a, total of 4 panels, 4 cobs each panel.
Now this choice is more appealing because it is 4 units, we can lower the height to 18-24" from the canopy and simply space out the lights, making for much better light distribution without sacrificing the intensity Although the price difference is pretty substantial, i have read the CXB3070 chips are more efficient than the CXA3070 and we are willing to pay more upfront for the long-term savings. This would supposedly be equivalent to a 1600w hps

Basically looking on any input on which setup is better, i only need this as a flower room fixture. Do CXB vs CXA chips really have a big difference? if so why?
Thank you so much in advance, everyone has been really helpful and i cant wait to build a diy COB setup for my personal 1 plant hydro.

My first purchase of a COB fixture was a GoGreen 450 Watt fixture. I used it in a 4x4 with 4 plants from Veg through Flower. It did a fabulous job and I couldn't have been happier. The ordering process was great. Mike was knowledgeable and really helped me pick the best product for my setup. I would recommend them to anyone that does not want to do a DIY light.

I have no experience with Johnson grow lights, but I have seen many good things on RUI about them. There are also many other companies from members here that make excellent lights.

That is my experience and I hope it helps!

How much did you yield with that 450w fixture if you dont mind me asking? and is that 450w HPS equivalent or power draw? how long were your veg time/flower time? Sorry for all the questions, is just a large purchase i want to be sure of.
