Need answers.....

I am a newbie. I have a few questions for anyone who can help.

1. I am looking at getting plain soil without ferts added, and then add my own ferts. Is this ok to do? If it is ok to do, then what is a good all purpose fert for VEG and what a good one for Flower?

2. I am getting a 6x6x6 grow tent with 1 400w HPS to start. I am getting the 6x6x6 tent because I plan on adding another 400w HPS in that tent later on. Is there any way I can close off half of the 6x6x6 tent until I get the other 400w HPS? Could I get some Mylar and hang it to cut the 6x6x6 in half? Anything else I can use besides Mylar? Wood?

at your local hardware store they should have top soil that 0-0-0 or very close for a couple bucks a bag and then you can mix your own. I used to always buy a neutral top soil, then add manure, bt guano, and a nute ( i used osmocote)
And i had good results.

I am now growing hydro.

split your tent in half with a black thick poly sheet found at many hardware stores. 4 mil minimum but 6 mil is best. You can also get panda film for about 25 bux for 25 feet. Double it up so both sides have white facing out. You can find panda film at local hydro store or amazon.com
