Need feedback on my planned setup (double tent)

I plan on growing in my basement (in tents) where whatever temperature it is outside, it is inside my basement as well. We are aproaching December, and those temps are not suitable for growing even for inside a tent. THIS is why I plan to have a mini oil filled heater with a thermostat inside the tent at all times.

My planned setup is to have a perpetual grow of a cycle of 4 weeks in veg, and 8 weeks in flowering. With 6 plants in the veg tent with a single 400w light, and 12 plants in the flowering tent with 2x 400w lights. I know I would get a better yield if I got better lights but I really do not want to get busted for having too high of a electricity bill with suspicious hour usages ESPECIALLY when I live in GA. I might feel comfortable if someone could tell me how better my yields would improve if I upgraded the 2x 400w grow lights in my flowering tent to 600w (currently haven't bought the 400w's yet so I still have the option).

My only concern about my setup is will my plan of having the tents connected with ducts spread the heat from the mini oil filled heater to keep both tents at a reasonable temperature? Also do I need to have 2x filters for this setup if I want to have 100% no odor (except when I open the tents)? Also with the tents being connected would I need 2x inline fans?

Personally, I would just construct a room with 2x4's, insulate with roxul insulation, and throw panda film up as vapour barrier and reflection, and divide the space for veg/flower with the same. The veg and flower sections can have panda film doors with velcro zippers on the outside, and you can then run the heater ducting to both areas.

Your heating would be FAR more efficient in this setup. I don't like the idea of running a heater inside of a tent for some reason, but I'm sure many have done it safely.

I would really love to just have a grow ROOM instead of a tent, but as it is not my house it must be in the basement and I cannot construct anything.

Do you think my setup would work though? With the heat passing through the ducts to the second tent?

If you mean by having the heater inside the tent, it has already been discussed. On this thread and I have read other threads so this is not a very uncommon practice.

That setup will work. Kind of what my new plan was except it was 1 4x8x7 tent that was divided into 2 so bloom and veg/mother/clones are all the the same tent.

The only thing I see wrong with your set up is you will be under-powering your tent. for 4x8 I would recommend 2 600 watt lamps. As you wont get enough light from 2 400s in that area. per 4x4 area you want a 600 watt lamp anything bigger as in 5x5 or larger you would want to use an 1000 watt lamp. An 1000 watt wont work as well for an 8x4 either as the edges of the tent wont get sufficient light. Placing 2 600 watt lamps spaced apart will get the light needed to you plants over the 8x4 area.

It looks great other then that. but really consider going with the 600+ watt lamps. You wont regret getting them over the 400 watt lamps.

Also randon question: With a 4 week veg with a 400w, and a 8 week flower with 2x 600w how much can I expect to get off each plant? I know it is hard to give a guess, but an estimate is perfectly fine.

Yes you would get better yields with the 600s instead of the 400s.

Your yield will depend on you environment that you create, what nutes you use. However a good rule if your conditions are right or near perfect. 1 gram per watt depending on grow style is a good estimate.

So it really depends on hwo close you watch and care for your plants and try to make the conditions perfect as possible for your plants to receive the best yields.

i veg 4 weeks under 2x600s in a double, flower 8 weeks, always the same strain and average 4oz per plant.
my best being 46oz out of 10 plants.
