Need help 1000w mh bulb not working

Hello, so i recently bought a 1000w ballast that works with MH and HPS Bulbs with a aircooled refleector and I was currently using the MH bulb for about 3 days and then last night i turned it off for the night and in the morning when we went to go and turn it on again it just barely starts to flicker onand then flickers out and turns off iv keep trying over and over again, i have also tried my HPS bulb and it works perfect... This is a link to my set up http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271044675175?...84.m1439.l2649 .... we have tried a few things and nothing works, is this just a faulty bulb or do i have my set up right? why is this happening? please help i need my babies back under this light asap! The reason i think this is not a faulty bulb is because it was working fine the last 3 days and then this morning is the first time its dont this so im really confused. ANY help or suggestions would be great.

Try reseating the bulb/clean contacts. Call on the warranty now. Buy a cheap MH like $40 or less and try it. I'm thinking bulb. They usually go early or last a long time. Spare in nice to have. Run the HPS for now but you will get more heat. You're on 1000 watt setting? Aslo try unplugging the ballast and try it after 1/2 hour.

Agreed, re-seat the bulb, and go light graphite on the threads if it's difficult to ensure proper seating.. -gently- rock the bulb a bit as you turn it. That said, does the ballast have a switch for MH / HPS bulbs? Agreed regarding the warranty if all else fails.. if it has a switch for MH/HPS and the HPS side works, then you know that the switch at least partially works, and that the core of the ballast, and the ignitor are intact.
