Need help buying a carbon filter...

So I'm looking to buy a carbon filter kit, but not sure which brand?

I was looking at the cheap ones, not looking to spend more than $100 as I need something cheap to last me a couple months until I can upgrade.

Any suggestions? Stuck between a 4" ipower or growneer kit. It's going in my 2x2x4 tent for now, which I am buying a 4x2x6 tent in a month or sooner.

It's between these two here unless someone has a better option?

The filter itself makes a difference in odor control. My 4 inch canfilter works better than my 6 inch cheap filter. Twice as good at least. For the fan I use a cheap 4 inch fan. It is not as quiet as the 6 inch vortex fan but it was half the price. I run it on a veriac controller though so it is quieter than that hum from a cheap fan controller. I would get a good filter and a cheaper fan. But check the size of them too. The canfilter was a lot bigger than expected I should have gone with a short stack.
What is funny though is it is in my closet and i can smell nothing. My 4 x 4 is in a different place and when i get close to it wow it smells like weed.

When i open the closet tent it smells like skunk spray. The filter is awesome.

Phresh too. A very very good brand and equally good for odor control

phresh makes a good product. they're a little more expensive than some, but they last longer, and work better than the cheap ones i've wasted money on.
you'll be better off going with at least one size up from what you actually need, on fan and filter both. they'll last longer and run quieter than smaller ones you have to run wide open.
money is what it is, get what you have to for now, but keep this in mind when you get to replacing it

Thanks I'll look into phresh, I guess if I'm going to invest in a carbon filter kit I shouldn't spent nearly $100 on a cheap one that may only last months if not weeks.
I see the 4" kit is 229.99 and the 6" kit is 299.99, I could maybe push to afford the 4" in a couple weeks if I save a little more.

Much apprecaited.

not that phresh is the only good brand, can is good, there are several others i just can't think of at the moment. but be careful, and try to find customer reviews if you go with a cheaper one.
I heard mountain air is another one, I might have to buy a nice carbon filter first and go with a cheap fan.

Then upgrade to a nice fan a few weeks down the road. Do you know anything about durabreeze?

and what about this? seems like a good deal.

Another option, if your credit allows, is Home Depot. They offer in store credit with zero interest payment periods and they carry Vortex power fans as well as CanFan fans and filters and Gorilla Grow tents.

I'd get the vortex filter too, you can flip the collar over to the other side after a year or two when the first side starts getting saturated.
I also think it comes with a set of collars so it is easy to mate to your ducting

I have only ever used Rhino Filters (http://www.rhinofilter.com/) so cannot comment on other brands, but they are absolutely flawless for odour control, and the current lot I have well and truly hum to the heavens in the tent (and they're not even flowering, never smelled anything like it)
