the second direction it says to do is calibration. heres the directions: (and they make it pretty specific as to which of the 3 buttons to push) select ph 7 buffer (i know this has something to do with acids and bases, but they dont say what selecting a buffer is.) for general testing; ph 4 for acidic and ph 10 for basic samples. press ON/OFF button. dip sensor in chosen buffer (how do i find this buffer?) . wait for displayed value to stabilize at or near ph buffer chosen. press cal (calibrate) button. when display flashes press HOLD/CON button to confirm. and viola tester is ready to use
