Can I use a GE 1000w MVR1000/U/40 Multi-Vapor Quartz Metal Halide bulb to grow with

It's 4K so it will work but I would supplement with CFL.

You will get a better response if you post the bulb details. There are lots of knowledgeable people here but nobody wants to do the homework for you.

The color temp isn't ideal...thats a pretty expensive bulb..you can get 2 1000w hps with similar lumens and a better color temp for the price...and since your posting in the az section I hope your not purchasing from the guy that post bulbs all the time on craigslist...he works for one of the wholesale houses i buy from and he uses old defective hid bulbs that contractors bring back and sells them...he will show you it spark up but unless you stand there for ten min after and see it come up to temp you wouldnt know it was defective...
