NEED HELP, someone please

Alritee, so today i just bought a 400w Xtrasun HPS/MH Convertable ballast and a daystar reflector from hydrofarm. So i plugged everything in, it turned on, then about 15 minutes later it started spelling a whitish fog from the sides of the ballast, i started to bug out ... then it started to smell, so i turned it off ... then i came back to i t about an hour later, turned it on, it seemed kewl, then thewhite fog and smell of death, then i blew a fuse and called it quits, ne suggestions, i had it on 120v and everything, a lil confused

sorry to inform you, but your ballast blew. do not turn it on again. unplug it and if its new return it, explain what happened. yeah it sux but it happens, I've bought lites that blew just as you said. Even household flouro fixtures blow up just like that sometimes. You can change ballasts if you know how, but if you are unsure than stay the hell away from them. they pack allot of juice
