I grew nothern lights auto and just trimmed it and hung it up to dry a few days ago but now the crystal are disappearing and the smell is getting very weak like grass but when I first took it out the soil I took a bus off and my girl smoke it and said it was fire and it was covered in crystals and smell great, what am I doing wrong??? I hung it up in a grow tent and the humidity is around %50 I know I need to raise it but it's only day 3 but the quality turned bad already

No sir you do not want humidity to get over 45%
Keep room 65 to 75 degree.
40 max 50% humidity
Keep a light fan in the room so air doenst get stale.

Temperature and humidity are not his problem.

Next time, wait until it's dry to trim. Hang the plant whole if possible. If not, hang the largest branches possible.
By trimming wet you have sped up your drying process by exposing much much more open tissue and taking away moisture that was contained in your trimmings.

Btw pros dry at 60 degrees F and 60% humidity.
this is in a room with ac dehueys and indirect airflow

It's normal for cannabis to turn to a bit of a grassy smell as its drying. After dry and its jarred for curing, the smell will come back.

Jow long to let it hang dry before jarring?

I doubt it's that bad... just wait for it to dry and then cure it... the flavour comes back in the cure

Wait until the stems are dry enough to audibly snap when bent over. Leave the plant as whole as possible. Trim off only the fan leaves; any leaf that has a stem and no visible trichome. Leave the sugar leaf alone and then cut just once at the base to harvest the entire plant. Hang dry for 7-10 days. After a full week of hanging bend the stem. If the stem creases over and bends without snapping it’s not ready yet.
Once the stems are dry enough to snap you can finish trimming and then jar the buds but don’t seal it up just yet. Place the lid on loose for the first day or so to be sure it’s dry enough. Next day get your face in the jar and take a good whiff. Should smell like dank weed. If it smells like hay or grass that is mold and you either picked it or jarred it too early. All you can do in that case is dump it all out and let it dry completely. Avoid this at all cost.

50%-55% is actually the more commonly accepted humidity range for drying at those temperatures. Below 50% is known to cause the outer parts of the bud to get too dry before the middle of the bud is properly dried. I personally noticed a big difference in flavor when I made sure to keep my tent from going below 50% RH during drying.

IMHO this is a little too far dried. Buds should be crispy on the outside and stems should not fold like straws but they should not snap cleanly either.
Do you have any idea how long it took me to realize that, when people said “it’s ready when the stems snap”, they meant “when the thin stems that attach the bud to the branches snap”? I thought I was a moron until I posted about that on Reddit and a ton of people were like “wait a minute...we aren’t supposed to wait until the thin branches snap?”

A bit too dry is still way better than moldy bud. That’s why you hang the whole plant without chopping into pieces. Once the bud gets into jars the moisture on the inside will sweat out.
I agree you don’t want the bud to turn to dust either. You need them to be a little gooey in the middle for a proper cure. You can always throw in a boveda pack to bring moisture level to a perfect 62 RH if you hang dry a bit too long. I’m just saying it’s better to err on the side of a little too dry as opposed to jarring too wet. You are right though they do need to have a little magic left in them to bring out the terps...ok yeah the thinner branches then.
