Need info guys please help!

Sup my extended family, I have a question. I just completed week one in bloom and I've been hearing that I need to use fertilizer for my organic grow. So I went out bought ff american pride fertilizer. Now my questions are can I use this 1, if I could when do I start using?0

We need a lot more information. What soil are you using? How long are you vegging? How long are the strains you're growing expected to flower for?

I grow in Sohum soil and don't bother with fertilizing until flower, when I top dress weekly with Terp Tea.

I've heard a lot of good things about Sohum. I am currently using Kindsoil and not expecting to fertilize all the way through flower, although I have some teas ready and top dressing if need be.

Type of Soil is critical some soils like the one Ross mentioned Sohum and other "living or super soils" may only need very little help. Are you seeing signs of deficiencies?

That American Pride fertilizer is time-release. I don't grow with nutrients or fertilizer myself, outside of the aforementioned terp tea, which I apply at roughly half recommended strength, but my understanding is that time-release fertilizers are not what most like to use.

I grew with miracle grow in the 90s for year's in veg and the stretch. It would exhaust it's fertilizer in 5-6 weeks, just right for my room. I would transplant at the switch to 12/12 from 1 gallon to 3 gallon containers using a neutral soilless mix I made myself, then flower with watered in ferts after the stretch. Worked great for a lot of years.

It seems to me if it's an organic time release you should be good to go for top dressing at any time. I grow autos and amend my mix with an organic dry granular and top dress at week 7. I know it doesn't release until water is added and takes many waterings to dissolve completely. It says it's a slow release and I know it never burns. I've used it on lawn, trees, shrubs, veggies and fruit since 1986 and cannabis since 2014. Cost about seventy cents per plant and never have deficiencies plus I never need cal-mag.

The old maxim is if it works for you then it works. I'm a newer grower in the first place, so mostly I'm just repeating what I've heard, but some people say they like to have more control over what the plants get and when than they get it than the time release fertilizers allow.

Growing in super soil is pretty similar, in a way, though. The nutrients for at least the entire vegetative period of my plant are right there.

I like the old maxim and am glad I found my growing "sweet spot." I've tried Kind soil grows and synthetic nute grows that gave
me nothing but problems and low yields.

Need info guys please help!
