Need opinions from experienced ebb and growers,

Hey guys

I have a really nice system set up using a 12 site flood and drain, The plants in this photo we’re origninally growing in soil but I carefully transitioned then into the hydro system and things were going well, Then I decided to add a additional pump to my res in order to circulate my nutrient solution constantly and add O2 to my plants ? Not a bad idea right ? Well it raised my res temp to like 90 fucking degrees and I didn’t catch that for 2 days. They look pretty rough but it was much worse, it also tanned my roots pretty bad, they were so beautiful and platinum in color growing by the hour it seemed.
It is what it is, I’ve done what I needed to do to make sure this never happens again but I’m curious as to what others might suggest to do in a situation like this.
I figured some hydro plex, sensizyme, super thrive and 3/4 strength nutrients for now

Suggestions anyone ?

A Water Chiller is all you need my friend.

What are those? Little 3 gallon sites?

Correct yes they are.

i've never done F&D but i'm pretty sure the flooding and draining is all the O2 your roots will need.

ditch the pump you tried and go back to plan A that was working.

It could be very interesting to put airstones in the half of the plants and watch them. Then make a comparison in size/bud sites/yield.

R U sure the tan is bad for your plants? Basic nutrients tan plant's roots very often. Nothing to worry about.
aerating res tank is OK
temp is NOT OK - you risk diseases or algae. Safe temps are 18-22 celsius.

^This is accurate. As a matter of fact, one of the major benefits of a flood/drain grow is all of the stale air being forced out and fresh oxygen getting pulled in to the root zone with every flood/drain cycle.

100% agree. If anything just one of those pumps in your res that agitates the water. I can’t remeber the name

When you added the pump, your grow style became RDWC. You need a water chiller in RDWC. Lose the pump and go back to flood & drain, add an air stone to your res if you're scared about root O2 levels. I've found that if you're willing to wait 1-2 weeks for the plants to get better, you can cut the roots to about the net cup level. This will get rid of any root rot and change your res of course also. This should probably be a last resort though
