Okay so time had advanced a small bit since i posted this and things have begun to take way and changed up just a bit... i aquired some Concord Cream males by exotic genetix from a friend of mine and decided to get ready to collect pollen and try to produce seeds in a more natural manor (after talking with a breeder who has years of crosses and foot work behind him) After speaking with my friend and learning about a couple different approaches with the silver he had suggested using a male to collect pollen and invitro them ladies on one branch of each strain id like to work with and begin my pheno hunting on each batch. So needless to say i hunted around the seed banks for regular seeds so i had some decent genetics to work with and my friend popped a 15 pack from exotic mike and got 6 males, we let them grow out made our selection for a stud plant and set up to collect some pollen. I have some pics for you guys no worries
... im not super excited to work with the CC genetics as i hear lots of things about exotic mike being hypey and basically just a pollen chucker (also many different phenos on his concord cream males and females leads me to believe its not been stabilized past an F2) but its great to practice with and use towards preserving the lemon diesel genetics...
I also have some progeny from the accidental afghan cross last year or the year before (ICK), popped 12 beans and got 10 females (pure luck) but both males and females expressed the same physical traits as eachother with little to no variances at all and are a strong resemblence to the afghan kush mom that was pollenated. Going to be using these males and f2's for more preservation and experimentation.
Now the real question, where do i go from here lol... i am going to be using the cc pollen on my outdoor lemon diesel and was thinking maybe let the progenies roll together in a secluded area for a natural pollenation on the ICK fems by the ICK males for some stabilization in the gene pool as well as allowing a skywalker og kush, a lemon diesel, and a purple kush clone to be pollenated in this little plant orgy too. So i should see some seed bearing branches on my lemon outside and have a nice small group of seed bearing mamas out of the plant orgy as well. Im also thinking of building a sealed plexi box thats hepa filtered in and out up to merv 12 to block pollen spore from leaking in or out so i can continue my breeding project i figure if i build a sealed box i can house some females in to be pollenated with one male plant. Im not really sure have lots of ideas and was hoping for a little help in directing these ideas down a decent path. I dont want to just chuck it on and hope for the best i really wanna put in some real work and time towards developing something good and unique but i have zero knowledge in this department andnwas hoping for some help.
The small clone is the progeny pick out of the ICK fems, the big plants pictures are the ick fems getting ready to flower. Clones of all the moms were taken and clones of the 2 males were taken as well, after flower is over final selection will be based on yield, flavor, structure, and smell.
