Hello there.

Coco grow wirh maxibloom. Plant is 6 weeks old from seed. Using water from machines outside grocery stores since my water is a 1000PPM even the guys at hydro store said it’s that high.

Plant looked good in small pot using 4.2 maxibloom and 1/2 tsp cal mag. I transplanted and upped nutrients to 6.0 and thing hasn’t looked for the last 2 weeks. Slow growth and new growth has yellow tips.

Which water is 1000ppm? Is that from your tap and if it is either your ppm pen is out of whack or your water is. That's higher than allowed almost everywhere water quality is monitored for potability. My tap water is high at 400ppm and it's from a dugout on my property so doesn't get tested for potability as it's not potable. Waht is the ppm of the store bought water and is it reverse osmosis, RO, water?

When you say you upped the nutes to 6.0 what scale are you using? If that's EC then it's way too high. As there is just a few yellowing tips it can't be EC or they would be frying in a short time.

They don't look bad but hard to tell when one doesn't see them all the time. Measure their height every couple days to monitor their growth and it could just be a bit of transplant shock they will get over a week or so after being re-housed but if it's been 2 weeks that should be done by now.

My tap water is 1000 PPM. I thought my pen was way off too and I went to the hydro store and they told me they get 1000 PPM water from their tap too. I will double check the water again tonight I just have a cheap pen off Amazon. The first few weeks the plants took off and grew and no issues and I thought I had my best start to grow ever. Now they just look to be staying the same until I upped to 6 grams of maxibloom and now I see some growth on top but very little growth by the internodes. I do apologize if I confused you

It is a bit confusing when you don't know what measurements are being used. Like now I'm assuming you mean 6g to a gallon which sounds OK but if it was 6g to a quart/litre then that sounds like way too much. I don't use those nutes so not sure how much you are supposed to use in the first place.

Have you topped the plants yet? That will get the internodes growing faster if that's what you're after. The plants will get bushier and slow down in height advances not to mention will get the side branches up closer to the main tops for a more even canopy. That's more important for indoor growing than outdoors unless keeping them shorter outside so they don't grow over the fence is also important.

They don't look like they're suffering any.

6 grams of maxibloom per gallon of water and 3/4 tsp of cal mag. I did top once and got some side branches going and LST. I will post a full picture of plant tomorrow. I measured the water I get from outside the grocery store water machine and the water read 30 ppm. When I added 3/4 cal mag meter read 235ppm. Added 6 grams of maxibloom to that gallon of water phd to 5.8 and read 1275 ppm. i have cheaper meter and not sure it’s fully working right it sometimes skips all over the place. I do appreciate the help and will be back with a few more photos

You should have some calibration fluid for your pen(s) so you can test them and reset if out of whack. 1275 seems pretty high to me so watch for burning tips. Do you feed every time or just water between feedings? High levels can lead to toxic salts buildup which starts frying leaves about half way thru flower and progresses right up to harvest. Must be RO water they are selling then at 30ppm. I buy 5 jugs a week as we can't drink our tap water from the dugout but will soon be connecting my own RO system I bought over a year ago.

We'll be out of town for a couple days so could be Thursday before I'm back online. Taking some clones and seeds for my buddy.

Here is an update. I started feeding 5 grams of maxibloom and 1 tsp of Cal mag one day and then the next 1 tsp calmag with just water and topped. I got some new growth going and now looks like I have a magnesium issue. Here are a few photos. I will get some calibration fluid this week or a new TDS pen and let you know my levels

Guess my message didn’t show up before photos. Using 5 grams maxibloom and 1 tsp calmag and next day just water and 1 tsp of calmag. I still need get new pen I can’t calibrate mine it’s cheap one. Looks like maybe a magnesium deficiency? I will get a new pen this week and get you some numbers back. Strain super lemon haze

Could be a bit low on Mg so add some Epsom Salts to your next watering. Half a tsp/L should fix it if that's what it is. Could be those leaves aren't getting a lot of light and the plant is just using up any mobile nutes it can steal off them before it drops them. I like to let them go yellow all over before taking them off. Free food for the tops.

Should I get rid of the calmag? Or use both calmag and epsom?

Under shop lights 4 of them. Not sure that would be to much light.

Thanks for the help

I only use RO water and add maybe 1/4 as much calmag as what it says on the bottle but still use it. I also add some epsom here and there especially later in flower. The sulphur in it is the 'secret ingredient' in most bloom booster formulas.

You can't get too much light from shop light and the tops of the plants should almost be touching the tubes for best results. I took 4 - 4ft T-12 shop lights apart 20 years ago and mounted the connectors at 2" centres on a piece of plywood. I put the ballasts on the back side of it. Each power cord on them has a quick connect so I can run them in pairs up to 8. On a trip to the dump a few months ago I found some ballasts that are for running 4- 4ft T-8s so I bought 8 LED tubes at Costco for $60 and will rewire the light to use them. Same amount of light but only 14w each instead of 40w so big saving on power at 30¢/kwh. Wife uses it to start her tomatoes etc for her garden.

Pretty sure this won't pass inspection but it works. I've since removed the fan and dimmer as it wasn't really doing shit.

Covered the plywood with tinfoil after this pic so it gets more light to the plants. Some old tubes just for testing after adding the 7th and 8th tubes a couple years ago. Only had 6 for a lot of years. One ballast died so good time to upgrade.

My DIY LED light is a lot prettier and grows plants pretty well too.

Wow thanks for sharing those photos. I will try some epsom salt and get back to you next week. I will also get me a new EC/PPM meter and get you some readings.
