Need some quality advice. starting my first grow!

Hello everybody!! I'm starting off my first outdoor grow very soon, i need some common advice, I know how to germinate, but let me give a little bit of a background on the story. I have a few bag seeds and some rockwool cube type things, about 1 in tall and 3/4 in wide, i have started a few seeds in them today, i just bought some organic soil and a bag of perlite to add to it (if im correct i should use 4 parts soil to 1 part perlite) i have some big pots or i could just use some 5 gallon buckets or i could upgrade to virtually anything that is better for them. I am located in Maine. Any tips and tricks to start out would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!
