I started my first grow about 3 weeks ago, and Ive noticed small changes in the way my plants growing. I just wanted to make sure she's doing good, or if not, what is she lacking? My thoughts are its either overwatering, or nitrogen def.. Any input? I appreciate it! :)

distorted leaves are a sign of very rich (hot) soil. it doesn't bother me one bit as it does others. it's when you see wicked discoloration and spotting and sometimes very unsymetrical growth i get worried.

I have her under 3 CFLs. 2x 6500k and 1x 2700k. Trying to get a mix of both spectrums as I had read. However, I am starting to think I may have too much light. Should I kick it down to just the 2 6500? or 1 6500 and 1 2700? What do you suggest?

it's more about the light intensity than it is the spectrum friend. wattage and distance and duration. how well would you do if you were stuck in a room with blasting lights 4ft from your head for 18hrs a day and feed gatorade and protein bars every hr?

What is that potting mix..? it looks like soil, if 'dirt' replace with quality potting mix and 20% perlite to improve drainage and reduce root compaction, your plant is well watered but does need better lights ...this at 3 weeks??, ensure you have a balance of cool white and warm reds,
take a look thru my blog for ideas
ps
60w equiv, 14w actual - 5-6 inches from her - under 24hrs of light.
make that 120w cfl, and 1-2 inches from the top under 18/6 with very small pc fan

don't transplant yet! at least i wouldn't. adds a week or more to your harvest time and their isn't enough evidence supporting a transplant

Actually, MJ plants don't need darkness during veg. I'm a long-timer, and I use 24/0 for vegging year round, except in the hot summertime, during which I veg at 18/6. My plants grow faster and are ready for flowering sooner when I veg at 24/0. I've been doing this far long enough to have seen the difference for myself.

Don't get me wrong. Vegging at 18/6 is fine. Nature does it that way.

well now we have him confused. can you elaborate on when you start your 24/0 lights? straight from seed? i've seen alot of works on it but a don't like first time growers going near it. therez a bunch of other things we can get away with but let's get him his first crop as painlessly as possible.or u can say shut up mudballs and takeover.

The guy who got me started didn't give me options and I did not have any idea at the time that others did it differently. After discovering RIU and the commonly used options, I asked him why he did not use 20 or 18 and his short answer was "why would I want to restrict their grow time??" Followed by much of what you just said. He also is a long time grower.

I use 24/0 from day 1, until I switch to 12/12 for flowering.

A lot of my friends use 24/0, but some use 18/6.

I didn't mean to crash the thread. Just wanted to give my opinion.
