Im looking to do an indoor grow in my half open/half closed basement (island living makes basements half indoor half outdoor weird stuff)
Basically stats are gonna be a 3' by 3' wide grow box about 5ft tall.

will be growing at maximum 3 plants in this box
straings: northern lights, some haze, and red cherry berry depending on how NL and the Haze grow.

nothing crazy just basic indoor grow plant in soil with a timer for the light, no hydroponics or anything to complicated this first time.

Now the question is should i go CFL or HPS or MH for such a small grow?
And if I was to choose each one how many watts would i need for such a small grow box?
i know CFLs are the cheapest, but at this point should i just get a 400 wat HPS and use it for the entire grow and avoid having to use multiple CFL's?
or for my first grow should i stick with CFL?

If i do choose CFL How many lights should be used?
AND what actual wattage should each light be for Vegetive growth, and flowering?

If i choose HPS what wattage should i choose?

Simply put, If i choose either CFL MH or HPS what are the minimum basics i should get to succesfully grow only a small head stash of plants.

This is for personal hobby growing not to make money, just want to grow some sollid nuggets.

400 HPS is the best move to get you from seed to harvest and will produce better nuggs than fluoros.

A 600 would be better, though.

The only drawback to HID is the heat generated, so make sure you know how you're gonna vent before you buy any.

Sounds great, i found a 400w HPS on insidesun's website for 120-145.
Ventilation will be another problem then huh? would just an in-line fan do to such the hot air out of the grow box, while being used in combination with just a regular oscillating fan?

Thanks
